Holcombe Hockey Club
Holcombe Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Rochester, Kent, England. The home ground is located at Holcombe Park, where there is a water-based pitch, a sand-based pitch and a clubhouse. The club was formed in 1999/2000 from a merger of clubs in the area. The Men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League, and the Ladies 1st Team play in the Women's England Hockey League. The club is one of the largest in the UK, with ten men's sides, five ladies' sides, and various other sides. Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. League Finals Weekend The top four Premier Division teams from the regular season qualify for the League Finals Weekend. Iain Lewers
Iain Lewers (born 5 January 1984) is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He was also a member the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship and 2014 Commonwealth Games. He also represented England at the 2013 and 2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championships and at the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup. In both 2014 and 2015 Lewers was named the England/Great Britain Player of the Year by the Hockey Writers' Club. Ellie Watton (born 10 June 1989) is a retired English international field hockey player who played as a forward for England and Great Britain. She made her first international appearance against South Africa on 4 February 2013. Laura Unsworth
Laura Roper, (née Laura Unsworth) (born 8 March 1988) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or defender for East Grinstead and the England and Great Britain national teams. She is the first British field hockey player to win three Olympic medals. Unsworth attended Coppice Primary School, Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls and Loughborough University. Shona McCallin, (born 18 May 1992), is an English former international field hockey player who played as a midfielder for England and Great Britain. She is co-founder of thetenpercentclub, a wellness supplement company. She was an Olympic gold medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Madeleine Clare Hinch, (born 8 October 1988), known as Maddie Hinch is an English field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper for Tilburg HC and England and Great Britain national teams. Denzil Dolley (born 22 July 1977 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape) is a field hockey player from South Africa, who was a member of the national squad that finished tenth at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Gareth Carr (born 4 November 1981) is a retired South African field hockey player. He was a defender who often scored from penalty corners. Carr was a member of the South Africa squad that competed at the 2010 Hockey World Cup and the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
