Holbrook Blinn
Holbrook Blinn was an American stage and film actor. Early years Blinn was the son of Civil War veteran Col. Charles Blinn and actress Nellie Holbrook-Blinn. He was born in San Francisco and attended Stanford University before he began a career in acting. Biography Blinn debuted on stage as an adult early in the 1890s with a traveling company in the western United States. By 1892 he had moved to the East, acting for two seasons in ''The New South''. Following that experience, he headed the first dramatic troupe to tour in Alaska. Blinn had appeared on the legitimate stage at age 6, in ''The Streets of London'', and played throughout the United States and in London. He appeared in silent films, and was the director of popular one-act plays at New York's Princess Theatre. He also was one of the founders of that theatre. Actors' Fidelity League
The Actors' Fidelity League (Fidelity) was a short-lived unaffiliated American craft union representing actors who worked in live theatrical performances. It split off from Actors' Equity Association (Equity) in August 1919 when the parent organization affiliated with the American Federation of Labor (AFL) and adopted strike tactics. Fidelity approved of collective bargaining but objected to breaking contracts once signed (hence the name). A few of its members objected to trade unionism itself in the belief that they were artists rather than craftsmen. Though not a company union in the traditional sense, there was some merit in Equity accusations that the League was too close to the producers. Initially it had over 2,000 members, but this dropped sharply after settlement of the 1919 strike. Butterflies are insects in the macrolepidopteran clade Rhopalocera from the order Lepidoptera, which also includes moths. Adult butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight.
