Kathryn Elizabeth Doty (née Hohn; July 15, 1920 – October 14, 2016), also known by her stage name Kathryn Adams or as Kathryn Adams Doty, was an American actress. Early years The daughter of a Methodist minister, Dr. Chris G. Hohn, Doty was born in New Ulm, Minnesota. When she was six, the family moved to Warrenton, Missouri, where her father was chaplain and executive secretary at an orphans' home. After she developed lung problems, she spent two years at a camp in Minnesota. As early as age 13, she took her father's place in the pulpit when he was sick. In a 1939 newspaper article, she recalled: "It was quite a radical thing, in that small town, for a little girl to conduct the church services and preach the sermon, but the congregation understood and were very kind to me." Uwe Hohn (born 16 July 1962) is a retired German track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He is the only athlete to throw a javelin 100 metres or more, with his world record of . A new javelin design was implemented in 1986 and the records had to be restarted, thus Hohn's mark became an "eternal world record". He coached Indian track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold in Men's javelin throw at 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo. Born in Neuruppin, Hohn excelled at the javelin throw from a young age and won the 1981 European Junior Championship with a throw of 86.56 m, a junior record. He then won gold at the 1982 European Championships with a 91.34 m throw. Mark Hohn (; born 29 January 1964) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. A front-rower, he represented Queensland in the State of Origin on nine occasions and played one Test for Australia as a reserve forward against France in mid-1994. Hohn played club football in Australia for the Fortitude Valley Diehards, Brisbane Broncos and South Queensland Crushers, and in England for Wigan and Hunslet. Barbara Hohn ForMemRS (born 15 September 1939) is an Austrian molecular biologist, particularly known for her research into the ''Agrobacterium tumefaciens''. Early life and education Hohn was born Barbara Freiinger, in Klagenfurt, Austria. From 1957 to 1962, she studied chemistry at the University of Vienna and then worked at the Max Planck Institute for Virus Research at the University of Tübingen, where she received her doctorate in 1967. Her PhD thesis supervisor was Professor Friedrich Freksa. Career As a postdoc, she did research at the Universities of Yale and Stanford, and in 1971 at the Biozentrum, University of Basel. In 1978, she became a group leader at the Friedrich Miescher Institute. From 1989, Hohn was associate professor of Molecular Genetics and in 1996 Adjunct Professor at the University of Basel.
