Joe Hogsett
Joseph Hadden Hogsett (born November 2, 1956) is an American attorney, prosecutor, and politician who is the 49th mayor of Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to being elected, Hogsett served as the Secretary of State of Indiana from 1989 to 1994 and as the Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party from 2003 to 2004. He was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1992, for Indiana's 2nd congressional district in 1994 and for Attorney General of Indiana in 2004. He most recently served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana from 2010 to 2014. On November 3, 2015, he won the race for Mayor of Indianapolis in the 2015 election. Elon Chester "Chief" Hogsett (November 2, 1903 – July 17, 2001) was a professional baseball pitcher who threw with a left-handed submarine motion. He played in Major League Baseball from 1929 to 1938 plus a final season in 1944, appearing in 330 games, 114 as a starter, compiling a 63–87 win–loss record with a 5.02 earned run average (ERA). Robert N. Hogsett (c. 1892 – August 8, 1953) was an American football player. He played college football for the Dartmouth Big Green football team from 1911 to 1913 and was the captain of the 1913 Dartmouth team. He was a consensus All-American football player in 1913, receiving first-team honors from both Walter Camp and the International News Service. Hogsett was the son of Thomas H. Hogsett, a corporate lawyer in Cleveland, Ohio, and Rebecca (Jones) Hogsett. Hogsett attended University School in Cleveland before enrolling at Dartmouth College.
