The Hobart Hurricanes (WBBL) are a women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Bellerive, Tasmania. They compete in the Women's Big Bash League. History Formation One of eight founding WBBL teams, the Hobart Hurricanes are aligned with the men's team of the same name. At the official WBBL launch on 10 July 2015, Julie Hunter was unveiled as the team's first-ever player signing. Julia Price was appointed as the Hurricanes' inaugural coach, while Heather Knight became the inaugural captain. The Hurricanes played their first match on 11 December against the Melbourne Renegades at Aurora Stadium, winning by 35 runs. Hobart Hurricanes
The Hobart Hurricanes are an Australian professional men's T20 franchise cricket team based in Tasmania, Australia. They compete in Australia's domestic T20 cricket competition known as the Big Bash League, which is a league where many international players compete. Their team represents Hobart. The Hurricanes play the majority of their home matches at Blundstone Arena, with additional home matches at the University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston. The Hurricanes wear a purple cricket uniform. Melbourne Stars (WBBL)
The Melbourne Stars (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in St Kilda, Victoria. They are one of two teams from Melbourne to compete in the Women's Big Bash League, the other being the Melbourne Renegades. To date, the Stars' best performance occurred in WBBL06 when they ended the regular season as minor premiers before ultimately finishing as runners-up. Off Spin
Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right arm, right-handed spin bowling, spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. In cricket, the boundary is the perimeter of a playing field. It is also the term given to a scoring shot where the ball is hit to, or beyond, that perimeter, which generally earns four or six runs for the batting team. In cricket, she has made 117 international appearances and won four world championships as a member of the Australian women's team. Bellerive Oval
Bellerive Oval, known commercially as Blundstone Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket and Australian rules football ground located in Bellerive, a suburb on the eastern shore of Hobart, Australia, holding 20,000 people it is the largest capacity stadium in Tasmania. It is the only venue in Tasmania which hosts international cricket matches. The venue is the home ground for the state cricket teams, the Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes, as well as a venue for international Test matches since 1989 and one-day matches since 1988. The 2016–17 Women's Big Bash League season or WBBL, 02 was the second season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), the semi-professional women's cricket, women's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament ran from 10 December 2016 to 28 January 2017. Amy Ella Satterthwaite (born 7 October 1986) is a New Zealand former cricketer who played as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling either right-arm medium or off break. Corinne Louise Hall (born 12 October 1987) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and occasional right-arm off break bowler for Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress.
