Hoax Slayer
''Hoax Slayer'' (stylized as ''Hoax-Slayer'') was a fact-checking website established in 2003 by Brett Christensen, dedicated to critically analyzing the veracity of urban legends. While it was best known for debunking false stories and internet scams, it also hosted a page listing strange but true stories. History Hoax Slayer originated as a Yahoo! group before the website was established. Stories it has debunked include fake videos claiming to depict Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, myths that the 2013 supermoon appeared bigger than it really did, and a "Simon Ashton" hoax claiming that emails from Simon Ashton should not be opened because doing so would lead to your computer being hacked. In 2014, the site was reworked, changing the style and color scheme for main pages and new reports, while old reports retained the previous style. Hoax Slayer was closed down on 31 May 2021. Brett Christensen Brett M. Christensen, a resident of Bundaberg, Australia, worked as a caravan p ...

Supermoon
A supermoon is a full moon or a new moon that nearly coincides with perigee—the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit—resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth. The technical name is a perigee syzygy (of the Earth–Moon–Sun system) or a full (or new) Moon around perigee. Because the term ''supermoon'' is astrological in origin, it has no precise astronomical definition. The real association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but no such link has been found. The opposite phenomenon, an apogee syzygy or a full (or new) Moon around apogee, has been called a micromoon. Definitions The term ''supermoon'' is attributed to astrologer Richard Nolle ''while reading "Strategic Role Of Perigean spring tides in Nautical History and Coastal flooding"'' publ ...

It left radar range northwest of Penang Island in northwestern Peninsular Malaysia. With all 227 passengers and 12 crew aboard presumed dead, the disappearance of Flight 370 was the deadliest incident involving a Boeing 777 and the deadliest in Malaysia Airlines' history until it was surpassed ...
