Ho Chi Minh Highway
Ho Chi Minh Road or Ho Chi Minh Highway ( vi, Đường Hồ Chí Minh, links=no) is a highway in Vietnam. It runs from the north to the south of Vietnam, west of National Route 1. The highway was named after Hồ Chí Minh. History The route roughly coincides with the Ho Chi Minh trail during the Vietnam War. It is a two-lane highway and is planned to become an 8-lane highway and it will connect Cao Bằng Province by the Sino-Vietnamese border to Cà Mau Province with the total length of 3,167 km. As of 2007, this road runs from Hoa Lac in Hà Tây Province, Hanoi to Ngoc Hoi in Kon Tum Province with a total length of 1,234.5 km. National Route 9 (Vietnam)
National Route 9 ( vi, Quốc lộ 9 (or abbrv. QL9) or Đường 9, links=no) runs across Vietnam roughly in line with the 17th Parallel. The route includes two segments. The segment called National Route 9A begins at Đông Hà and ends at Lao Bảo on the Vietnam-Laos border and is entirely within Quảng Trị Province. The 8 km-long segment called National Route 9B begins at Dong Ha and runs eastward to Cửa Việt Port. North–South Expressway West
The North–South Expressway West (Vietnamese: ''Đường cao tốc Bắc – Nam phía Tây'') is a partially completed expressway in Vietnam that will form an inland parallel route to the North–South expressway. It will run from Đoan Hùng to Rạch Sỏi in the Mekong Delta, following a similar route to the historic Ho Chi Minh Highway. Between Hà Tĩnh and Da Nang, the narrowest part of Vietnam, it will be concurrent with the North–South Expressway. History The section Cao Lãnh - Lộ Tẻ opened in May 2018 and includes two major cable-stayed bridges, Cao Lãnh bridge over the Tiền River, and Vàm Cống bridge over the Hậu River.
