Hiya Diya Niya
''Hiya Diya Niya'' ( as, হিয়া দিয়া নিয়া) is a 2000 Indian Assamese romantic drama movie directed by Munin Barua and produced under Pooja Motion Pictures. Music was composed by Zubeen Garg. It was released on 25 February 2000. This film marked Assamese's first film to be shot outside India. ''Hiya Diya Niya'' was the biggest blockbuster which also helped to revive the Assamese film industry that went into down fall. Synopsis A rich family searches for a husband for their daughter. The father wants his daughter to marry his friend's son who lives in a village, but the mother and daughter prefer an NRI boy. Munin Barua
Munin Barua ( as, মুনিন বৰুৱা; 5 November 1946 – 7 April 2018) was an Indian film director in Assamese cinematography. Among his best-known films are ''Pita-Putro'', ''Prabhati Pokhir Gaan'', ''Hiya Diya Niya'', Daag, '' Nayak'' and ''Bidhata''. Barua is widely regarded in Assam to have been one of the directors who helped popularize and establish Assamese cinema outside the state, primarily elsewhere in India where other industries had historically dominated. In 2000, his film ''Hiya Diya Niya'' became a first 'blockbuster hit' in Assamese cinema, which helped revive the Assamese film industry. Sagarika Mukherjee (born 4 September 1970), also known as Saag, is an Indian singer and actress. She sings mainly in Hindi, Assamese and Bengali language songs but has also sung in Tamil and Telugu languages. She is the daughter of singer and composer Manas Mukherjee and granddaughter of lyricist Jahar Mukherjee. Queen Hazarika (born 16 October 1976) is an Indian playback singer and actress from Assam. Nipon Goswami
Nipon Goswami (3 September 1942 – 27 October 2022) was an Indian actor and theatre artist associated with Assamese language, Assamese-language films. He was one of the veteran actors of Assamese Film Industry. He started his acting career as a stage actor and later established himself as a film actor. Personal life Goswami was born on 3 September 1942 at Kolibari in Tezpur, Assam. His father Chandradhar Goswami was a famous actor and his mother Nirupama Goswami was a singer. He did his primary schooling at Kolibari LP School. After that, he moved to Tezpur Govt. HS School. He died after suffering from heart-related ailments on 27 October 2022, at the age of 80.
