History IQ
''History IQ'' is a game show on The History Channel which premiered on October 2, 2000 and aired for two seasons. Marc Summers hosted and Harvey announced, reuniting the two from the Nickelodeon game show '' Double Dare''. ''History IQ'' was produced by Glow in the Dark Productions. During each episode, three contestants participated in a process of elimination game. Season one's daily grand prize was $25,000. The daily grand prize was lowered to $5,000 in season two, but contestants also played for a spot to advance in a tournament for a top prize of $250,000. During the show's original run, home viewers could play along with the game online at the ''History IQ'' website. Shortly after the last original episode aired, reruns began airing at 6:00 a.m. E/T on Saturday mornings, and continued until June 27, 2009. Edd Kalehoff
Edward Woodley Kalehoff Jr. (born September 1, 1945) is an American television composer who specializes in compositions for television, known for his work on the Moog synthesizer. Kalehoff composed the musical themes to the game shows ''The Price Is Right'' and '' Double Dare'', as well as for ''ABC World News Tonight'' and ''Monday Night Football''. Early life Kalehoff was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. His father, Edward Woodley "Woody" Kalehoff Sr., played piano in the White House for presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Marc Summers
Marc Summers (born Marc Berkowitz; November 11, 1951) is an American television personality, comedian, game show host, producer, and talk show host. He is best known for hosting '' Double Dare'' for Nickelodeon, and ''Unwrapped'' for Food Network; he was the executive producer for both '' Dinner: Impossible'' and '' Restaurant: Impossible'' also for Food Network. Early career Summers was born Marc Berkowitz in Indianapolis, Indiana, to a Jewish family. He attended Westlane Middle School and North Central High School in Indianapolis and Grahm Junior College in Boston. After consulting with Rabbi Weitzman of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation about whether to pursue a career as a rabbi or as an entertainer, Rabbi Weitzman told Summers, "As a rabbi, you can help a small congregation a lot, but as a performer you can help a lot of people a little." Harvey (announcer)
John Harvey, simply known as Harvey (born June 13, 1951), is an American television and radio personality, often credited by his last name. He was the announcer for '' Double Dare'', ''Finders Keepers'', and ''History IQ''. In addition to his announcer work, he hosted and built projects on ''Gimme Shelter'', a home improvement program on The Discovery Channel in the late 1990s. On ''Double Dare'', he was referred to as "Harvey the Announcer" or "Harvey". Prior to his announcing duties at Nickelodeon, Harvey had worked at Philadelphia radio station WIOQ from 1977 to 1989, hosting "Harvey in the Morning" (which also served as his radio stage name at the time).
