Historisches Museum Hannover
(german: Historisches Museum Hannover) is an historical museum situated in Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, Germany. The museum was founded in 1903 as the Homeland Museum of the City of Hanover (). Its collections are related to the history of the city, the history of the governing House of Welf, and of the state of Lower Saxony. Leine
The Leine (; Old Saxon ''Lagina'') is a river in Thuringia and Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Aller and the Weser and is long. The river's source is located close to the town of Leinefelde in Thuringia. About downriver, the river enters Lower Saxony and runs northwards. Important towns along its course, from upstream to downstream, are Göttingen, Einbeck, Freden, Alfeld, and Gronau, before the river enters Hanover, the largest city on its banks. Downstream some north of Hanover, near Schwarmstedt, the river joins the Aller and reaches the North Sea via the Weser. Its northern (lower) reaches are only navigable today by the smallest commercial carriers, though in the past, it served as an important pre-railway barge transport artery as far upriver as Göttingen. Schloss Herrenhausen
Herrenhausen Palace (German: ''Schloss Herrenhausen'') is a former royal summer residence of the House of Hanover in the Herrenhausen district of the German city of Hanover. It is the centerpiece of Herrenhausen Gardens. The original palace was destroyed by a British bombing raid in 1943 and reconstructed between 2009 and 2013. Today it houses a museum, a division of the Historisches Museum Hannover, and exhibition space. Hugo Thielen
Hugo Thielen (born 1946) is a German freelance author and editor, who is focused on the history of Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, in a lexicon of the city, another one especially of its art and culture, and a third of biographies. He co-authored a book about Jewish personalities in Hanover's history. Life Thielen studied German language and literature, philosophy and education at the University of Bonn from 1966, completing with the Staatsexamen in 1971. Helmut Knocke (born 1953) is a Germans, German History of architecture, architecture historian and author. Life Hemut Knocke studied architecture, with a special focus on the history of building, at the Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) in his home city, Hannover, graduating in 1983. He has worked for the Cultural heritage management, Cultural heritage inventarisation department where the focus of his work was on the built and documentary legacies of the architects Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves (1788–1864) and Rudolf Hillebrecht (1910–1999). He also involved himself in research projects at the Institute for Arts and Buildings History (german: Institut für Bau- und Kunstgeschichte) at LUH. Hannoversche Waggonfabrik AG was a German aircraft manufacturer of the World War I era. It was known as a railway rolling stock constructor until required by the German government in 1916 to start the construction of aeroplanes. The aircraft branch of the company was established at Hannover-Linden where other types were first manufactured under licence until 1916 when the Hannover type itself came on stream.
