Hiromu Arakawa
is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the manga series ''Fullmetal Alchemist'' (2001–2010), which became a hit both domestically and internationally, and was adapted into two anime television series. She is also known for ''Silver Spoon'' (2011–2019) and the manga adaptation of ''The Heroic Legend of Arslan'' novels. Biography Born on May 8, 1973, in Tokachi, Hokkaidō, Japan, Arakawa was born and raised on a dairy farm with three elder sisters and a younger brother. Arakawa thought about being a manga artist ever "since hewas little" and during her school years, she would often draw on textbooks. After graduating high school, she took oil painting classes once a month for seven years while working on her family's farm. Makubetsu, Hokkaido
is a List of towns in Japan, town located in Tokachi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of September 2016, the town has an estimated population of 27,310 and a population density, density of 80 persons per km2. The total area is 340.46 km2. On February 6, 2006, the village of Chūrui, Hokkaido, Chūrui (from Hiroo District, Hokkaido, Hiroo District) was merged into Makubetsu. Makubetsu is the birthplace of park golf, and as of 2006, has no less than ten individual courses. Mascots Makubetsu's mascot is is a blue elephant. He is one of the descendants of Naumann's elephants. His charm points are his trunks, his big ears, his long tusks and his lovely eyes. Newtype USA
is a monthly magazine publication originating from Japan, covering anime (and to a lesser extent, tokusatsu, manga, Japanese science fiction, seiyuu, and video games). It was launched by publishing company Kadokawa Shoten on March 8, 1985, with its April issue, and has since seen regular release on the 10th of every month in its home country. ''Newtype Korea'' is published in Korea. Spin-off publications of ''Newtype'' also exist in Japan, such as Newtype Hero/Newtype the Live (which are dedicated to tokusatsu) and ''NewWORDS'' (which is geared toward a more mature adult market), as well as numerous limited-run versions (such as ''Clamp Newtype''). Shogakukan
is a Japanese publisher of dictionaries, literature, comics (manga), non-fiction, DVDs, and other media in Japan. Shogakukan founded Shueisha, which also founded Hakusensha. These are three separate companies, but are together called the Hitotsubashi Group, one of the largest publishing groups in Japan. Shogakukan is headquartered in the Shogakukan Building in Hitotsubashi, part of Kanda, Chiyoda, Tokyo, near the Jimbocho book district. Hero Tales
is a Japanese manga series written by Huang Jin Zhou (a unit composed of Hiromu Arakawa, Genco, and Studio Flag) and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa. It was serialized in Square Enix's ''Gangan Powered'' and later moved to ''Monthly Shōnen Gangan'', when the magazine was closed. The motif of the story was inspired by Chinese wuxia drama and novels. The world view is rooted in Chinese folklore and history, as well as having an element of fantasy.
