Bobby Burns (actor)
Robert Paul Burns (September 1, 1878 – January 16, 1966) was an American film actor and director. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1908 and 1952 as well as directing 13 films between 1915 and 1916. Burns was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in Los Angeles, California. He played Pokes in the ''Pokes and Jabbs'' silent comedies of the mid 1910s, with Walter Stull as Jabbs and frequently featuring Babe (Oliver) Hardy. Later he supported Hardy in his partnership with Stan Laurel at the Hal Roach Studios in several of their early short comedies and feature films. Walter Stull
Walter Stull (January 27, 1879 – June 10, 1961) was an American film actor and director. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1911 and 1917 as well as directing 13 films between 1915 and 1916. He was born in Nebraska, and died in Los Angeles, California. He played Jabbs (sometimes spelled Jabs) in the ''Pokes and Jabs'' silent comedies of the mid-1910s, with Bobby Burns as Pokes and frequently featuring Babe (Oliver) Hardy. He later appeared briefly as Finn with Billy Ruge as Haddie in the Finn and Haddie comedies. Florence McLaughlin (1898 - 1972), sometimes credited as Florence McLoughlin, was an actress in the U.S. She appeared in numerous silent films including comedies with Oliver Hardy. Ethel Burton
Ethel Marie Burton Palmer (October 23, 1897 - May 1985) was an American comedic film actress. Biography Burton was born in New York City and began working in films in 1915. She worked for Vitagraph, World Comedy Stars Film Company and Vim Comedy Company. She often appeared as a supporting actress in films with Billy West and Oliver Hardy. She co-starred in the first four Billy West comedies, during which time she met director Arvid E. Gillstrom. They became a couple and were married in 1917. Burton and Gillstrom divorced in 1931 and Burton continued acting under the name Ethel Gillstrom.
