Hiram Torres Rigual
Hiram Torres Rigual (July 16, 1922 – December 3, 2006) was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. After serving as an Internal Revenue agent as well as an aide to Puerto Rico's Treasury Secretary, he studied law at the University of Puerto Rico while he worked summers as a professor of Political Science on the same campus. He clerked with Supreme Court of Puerto Rico Associate Justice Borinquen Marrero upon his law school graduation in 1949 and held other government posts including over 15 years as an aide to Governors Luis Muñoz MarÃn and Roberto Sánchez Vilella and obtained a Masters in Public Law at Harvard Law School. Sánchez Vilella appointed him a Superior Court judge in 1965, elevating him to the Supreme Court in 1968, where he served as an Associate Justice from May 17, 1968 until January 31, 1985, when he retired at the age of 62. Mayagüez, Puerto Rico
Mayagüez (, ) is a city and the eighth-largest municipality in Puerto Rico. Emilio Belaval Maldonado
Emilio Belaval Maldonado S. (born November 8, 1903 - died March 30, 1972) served for 9 years as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico from 1953 to 1967. Belaval Maldonado was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 1927. In the field of law, he was a district judge, and later, an associate justice of the Supreme Court appointed by Puerto Rico Governor Luis Muñoz MarÃn and Secretary of the Hayes Committee, who was in charge of the investigation of the events of the Ponce massacre. From a young age, Belaval Maldonado felt a love for writing and his first verses appeared in a Puerto Rico illustrated magazine, when he was just 14 years old. Belaval Maldonado devoted himself to the cultivation of the tale, from their initial two books: El Libro Azul (1918) and Cuentos para Celegiales (1922). Federico Hernández Denton
Federico Hernández Denton (born April 12, 1944 Santurce, Puerto Rico) was the 15th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Biography Hernández Denton received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College in 1966 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1969. After being admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico, he began a career in public service, serving as general counsel to the president of the University of Puerto Rico, as well as occupying various faculty and administrative positions in the university's school of business. From 1973 to 1977 he served as secretary of the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Jose Fernando Aponte Hernández (born January 19, 1958) is an accountant and former Speaker of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico. Kenneth Davison McClintock-Hernández (born January 19, 1957) is a politician who served as the twenty-second Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, one of the four longest serving in that post. McClintock served as co-chair of Hillary Clinton’s National Hispanic Leadership Council in 2008, he co-chaired her successful Puerto Rico primary campaign that year and served as the Thirteenth President of the Senate of Puerto Rico until December 31, 2008.
