Hippolyte Lazerges
Jean Raymond Hippolyte Lazerges (1817–1887) was a French Orientalist painter and songwriter. Biography Despite showing some artistic talent his father, who was a baker, refused to let him study drawing. From 1830, he and his family lived in Algeria. In 1838, he went to Paris to begin his mandatory military service. Upon being discharged, he remained in Paris, where he studied with the sculptor David d'Angers and the painter François Bouchot. He began with religious works, to obtain government commissions for church murals, as his student years had left him in poverty. A notable painting from this period is the "Death of the Virgin", in the chapel at the Palais des Tuileries. He returned to Algeria in 1861, due to health problems, and began working in the Orientalist genre; creating mostly portraits. Narbonne (, also , ; oc, Narbona ; la, Narbo ; Late Latin:) is a commune in France, commune in Southern France in the Occitania (administrative region), Occitanie Regions of France, region. Agnes Of Merania
Agnes of Merania (1175 - July 1201) was Queen of France by marriage to King Philip II. She is called Marie by some of the French chroniclers. Biography Agnes Maria was the daughter of Berthold, Duke of Merania, who was Count of Andechs, a castle and territory near Ammersee, Bavaria. Her mother was Agnes of Rochlitz. In June 1196, Agnes married Philip II of France, who had repudiated his second wife Ingeborg of Denmark in 1193. Pope Innocent III espoused the cause of Ingeborg; but Philip did not submit until 1200, when, nine months after interdict had been added to excommunication, he consented to a separation from Agnes. Agnes died giving birth to their third child in July of the next year, at the castle of Poissy, and was buried in the Convent of St Corentin, near Nantes. Marie Dorval (6 January 1798, Lorient, Morbihan – 20 May 1849) was a French actress in the Romantic style. Early life and first marriage Marie Thomase Amélie Delauney was born on 6 January 1798 to Marie Bourdais, who was sixteen years old. Her father, Joseph-Charles Delaunay was an actor who happened upon a traveling acting company where he met Marie Boudais, the daughter of the troupe manager. He abandoned his daughter and died of yellow fever on 15 July 1802. Dorval's mother died on 18 February 1818. Dorval met Alain Dorval when she was fifteen years old, and he was thirty-six. The two were married in Vannes on 12 February 1814. Marie and her mother travelled parts of Brittany and France during the period from 1806 to 1810.
