The Hindu Temple of Atlanta is a Hindu Temple located in Riverdale, Georgia and serves the Hindu population in the Metro Atlanta. But because of its proximity on the I-75, and its popularity, 10 to 15% of devotees are from the eastern seaboard and midwestern states. It has been rated as one of the top 10 Hindu temples in the US. History The temple was established oOctober 19th 1984and was built in a similar fashion to Southern India's traditional design. Design The Hindu temple has two complexes – the older and larger shrine for Lord Venkateswara as the presiding deity, and the newer one consecarated in 2007, with Lord Shiva as the presiding deity Because the Shiva temple here, is adjunct, to the Venkateshwara temple, Lord Shiva is known as Ramalingeshwara. Navagraha are nine heavenly bodies and deities that influence human life on Earth according to Hinduism and Hindu astrology.
