Himam
''Himam'' () is a 1983 Indian Malayalam-language masala film, directed by Joshiy. The film stars Prem Nazir, Shankar, Shanavas and Sripriya. The film has musical score by Shyam. The movie is a remake of the 1973 movie ''Yaadon Ki Baaraat''. The story revolves around a man who is separated from and later reunites with his sons. Plot Prasad, a middle-class man, lived with his wife, Ammu and sons, Vijay and Renji. Ammu had taught her sons, a song called "Gomedakam" (which means "onyx"). They lead a happy life until one day, Ammu is killed by two goons, led by the crime lord. Prasad manages to escape with his sons, however, the three are separated. As time passes, Prasad becomes a criminal, who is still haunted by the murder of his wife. He vows to find his sons Vijay and Renji and avenge his wife's death. Joshiy (born 18 July 1952) is an Indian film director and producer from Varkala in Kerala who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut with ''Tiger Salim'' (1978) and has directed over 80 films. He has also directed a few Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. In the beginning of his career, he received national fame when he directed ''Dharm Aur Qanoon'' (1984) starring Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, with Khanna in double roles. Jose Prakash (14 April 1925 – 24 March 2012) was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award in 2011, a day before he died aged 86.
