The Hilton Head International Piano Competition is a piano competition held annually since 1996 at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina's First Presbyterian Church. Hilton Head Island, sometimes referred to as simply Hilton Head, is a South Carolina Lowcountry, Lowcountry resort town and barrier island in Beaufort County, South Carolina, United States. It is northeast of Savannah, Georgia, and southwest of Charleston, South Carolina, Charleston. The island is named after Captain William Hilton, who in 1663 identified a headland near the entrance to Port Royal Sound, which mapmakers named "Hilton's Headland." The island features of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean and is a popular vacation destination. In 2004, an estimated 2.25 million visitors infused more than $1.5 billion into the local economy. The year-round population was 37,661 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, although during the peak of summer vacation season the population can swell to 150,000.

Valerie Tryon
Valerie Tryon, (born 5 September 1934) is an English classical pianist. Since 1971 she has resided in Canada, but continues to pursue an international performing and recording career, and spends a part of each year in her native Britain. Among her specialisms is the music of Franz Liszt, of which she has made a number of celebrated recordings. Currently 'Artist-in-Residence' at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Tryon is active as a concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, accompanist and adjudicator. Early life Born in Portsmouth, England, Valerie Tryon was performing regularly in public while still a child. She toured with the Northern Youth Orchestra of Great Britain at the age of nine, and had broadcast for the BBC before she was 12. Michail Lifits (born 1982) is a prizewinning German concert pianist who was born into a family of musicians in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Biography He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover under Bernd Goetzke and Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, and at the ''Incontri col Maestro'' Academy in Imola, Italy, under Boris Petrushansky. In 2009, he won first prize at the 2009 Hilton Head International Piano Competition in South Carolina and at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy. Ran Dank
Ran Dank (born April 3, 1982) is an Israeli classical pianist, who currently lives in New York, NY, USA. Early life Dank started playing the piano at the age of seven with Yaakov Krantz. He went on to work with Liora Peleg at the Givaataim Conservatory, and from 1994 until 2002, he studied with Professor Vadim Monastirsky of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In the years between 2000 and 2003, Dank served under a special musician status in the Israeli Defense Forces. From 2004 to 2005, Dank attended the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, where he received his BA in music, studying with Professor Emanuel Krasovsky. Charlie Albright ( ko, 찰리 박 올브라이트) is an American pianist, composer, and improviser. He is an official Steinway Artist, 2014 Avery Fisher Career Grant Recipient, 2010 Gilmore Young Artist (2010) and former Young Concert Artist. He graduated from Harvard College (AB) and the New England Conservatory (MM) as the first classical pianist in the schools' five-year AB/MM Joint Program, was named the Leverett House Artist in Residence for 2011–2012, and was one of the 15 Most Interesting Seniors of the Harvard College Class of 2011. Di Wu () is a Chinese- American pianist. Early life and education Born into a musical family in Nanjing, Jiangsu, Di Wu entered Beijing's Central Conservatory of Music at age 12. She made her professional debut at age 14 with the Beijing Philharmonic, and thereafter toured widely to positive reviews. Konstantin Soukhovetski
Konstantin Alekseyevich Soukhovetski (born January 19, 1981) was born into a family of artists, and began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied at the Moscow Central School under the auspices of the Moscow Conservatory, where his special subjects also included composition and acting. He then studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, gaining his bachelor's degree in 2003 with the Anton Rubinstein Prize as an outstanding pianist. He received his Master's degree from Juilliard in 2005 with the support of The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, and is in the Artist's diploma program at Juilliard, studying with Jerome Lowenthal. Sandra Wright Shen
Sandra Wright Shen (仙杜拉), a world-renowned concert pianist, was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her Bachelor of Music in 1994 with a piano performance major and organ minor from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Ann Schein.
