Hills District Panthers
The Hills District Panthers is a defunct rugby league club from Brisbane, Australia. The Panthers played only one year, 2005, in the Mixwell Cup and Mixwell Colts Challenge. They were formed by the Arana Hills Panthers, a satellite club of the Wests Panthers The Western Suburbs Panthers, often simply referred to as Wests for short, are a rugby league club based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The club is the oldest in the QRL and despite absences from the top grade in rec ..., and while failed to make the finals of the Mixwell Cup, made the finals of the Mixwell Colts Challenge. The Panthers adopted the Red and Black of Wests, along with Blue and White showed the Cronulla Sharks involvement with the club. Towards the end of 2005, Hills District and Wests decided to enter a joint venture and be called Western Districts Panthers, playing out of Arana's Kev McKell Oval. The Brisbane Rugby League (otherwise known as the CAOS BRL Premier A Grade due to sponsorship purposes; formerly known as the Quest Cup, Mixwell Cup, FOGS Cup and In Safe Hands Cup) is a ten-team competition, expanded from a six-team competition in 2020. It is the division below the Queensland Cup and is generally regarded as the successor competition to the original Brisbane Rugby League which folded in 1997. The Western Suburbs Panthers, often simply referred to as Wests for short, are a rugby league club based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
