Hillman is an outer southern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, located within the City of Rockingham. It is principally a suburb of residential dwellings, and contains Hillman Primary School. The suburb was created and named in 1970 after Alfred Hillman, a draughtsman, surveyor and explorer, who arrived in Western Australia in 1831 and made many initial surveys in the Rockingham area. On 7 May 2009, a boundary realignment of Cooloongup, Western Australia, Cooloongup and Hillman approved by the Minister for Lands incorporated the Rockingham railway station, Perth, Rockingham Train Station into Rockingham, Western Australia, Rockingham. A significant portion of the north and east portions of the suburb is incorporated into Rockingham Lakes Regional Park. References

Kwinana is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is located in the south-western suburbs of Perth. History Kwinana was first created for the 2008 state election. It was a new urban seat created as a result of the one vote one value reforms. For the most part it combined the southern portion of the district of Cockburn with the northern part of the district of Peel; it also took in territory previously covered by the districts of Rockingham and Serpentine-Jarrahdale. At its creation, Kwinana was calculated to have a Labor Party majority of 69.2% to 30.8% versus the Liberal Party, making it a very safe Labor seat.
