Hilera
Hilera is a Filipino rock band formed in December 2004. Originally a three-piece band, it currently consists of Chris Padilla, Bobby Padilla, Luke Xavier Bayhon and JC Tayag. Formation In February 2004, bandmates Chris Padilla and Ivan Garcia decided to form their own three-piece band. After months of searching, Padilla's brother Bobby was showing potential with his drumming skills. They decided to move forward with their lineup, and in December 2004 Hilera was officially formed. The band joined the Nescafe Soundskool Battle of the Bands in 2005. The young band won the top spot and scored a recording contract with EMI Philippines. and release their first self titled debut album on October 30, 2006. Since then, the band has been very active and has been nominated at various award shows such as the NU Rock Awards, Myx Music Awards, IFM Pinoy Music Awards, and SOP (Pasiklaband). NU Rock Awards
The NU Rock Awards was an annual accolade presented from 1994 to 2010 by the Metro Manila-based radio station NU 107, known for prominent performances by the most influential pinoy rock artists of each year. History The first NU 107 Rock Awards was held at The Music Hall in Annapolis St., Greenhills on November 15, 1994. Originally meant to be a small gathering to give recognition to the rock community, it slowly became a much anticipated annual event. Ely Eleandre Basiño Buendia (born November 2, 1970), popularly known as Ely Buendia, is a Filipino musician, singer, songwriter, author and film director who gained fame as the guitarist, lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the famed Filipino rock band, the Eraserheads and also the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist of Pupil. Widely regarded as a legendary musical icon in the country, his songs continue to amass remarkable commercial success and critical acclaim, topping various music charts and leaving behind an enduring legacy in Philippine popular culture. The Oktaves
The Oktaves is a Filipino rock supergroup formed in 2011 consisting of Ely Buendia (of Eraserheads, Pupil, and The Mongols), Nitoy Adriano (of The Jerks), and Hilera members Chris Padilla, Ivan Garcia, and Bobby Padilla. The band was named after the music term " Octave", which is the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency. This principle also mirrors the age and experience of its band members spread through three decades of Filipino music, whereas Adriano began during the 1970s, while Buendia began during the 1980s, and the rest of the younger band members began during the 1990s. Buendia also collaborated with The Jerks and Hilera on different independent projects, which also prompted him to form the band. Buddy Zabala
Hector Avanceña Zabala (born November 13, 1971), popularly known as Buddy Zabala, is a Filipino musician and producer. He is currently the bassist of Filipino pop band Moonstar88 and indie band Cambio, and widely known as the bassist and backing vocalist of the alternative rock band, Eraserheads. He also served as bassist to The Dawn and Hilera. Early life Zabala was born in Zamboanga City, Philippines and attended University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City. Eraserheads (sometimes stylized as ERASƎRHEADS or ƎRASƎRHƎADS) are a Filipino alternative rock band formed in 1989. Kamikazee
Kamikazee or KMKZ is a Filipino rock band formed in 2000. The band, originally known all throughout its career as a quintet, is currently composed of Jay Contreras (lead vocals), Jomal Linao (lead guitar and vocals), Led Tuyay (guitar), Puto Astete (bass), Bords Burdeos (drums), Jian Lubiano (guitar), and Mikki Jill (keyboards & vocals).
