Hilding Ekelund
Georg Hilding Ekelund (18 November 1893, in Kangasniemi – 30 January 1984, in Helsinki) was a Finnish architect, from 1950 to 1958 a professor of housing design at Helsinki University of Technology and from 1931 to 1934 editor-in-chief of the Finnish architects' journal Arkkitehti (Finnish Architectural Review). His career as an architect spans the change in styles in Finland from the Nordic Classicism of the 1920s to the Modernism of the 1970s. Career Ekeleund studied architecture at Helsinki University of Technology, qualifying as an architect in 1916. Hilding Faxén
Olov Hilding Faxén (29 March 1892 – 1 June 1970) was a Swedish physicist who was primarily active within mechanics. Faxén received his doctorate in 1921 at Uppsala University with the thesis ''Einwirkung der Gefässwände auf den Widerstand gegen die Bewegung einer kleinen Kugel in einer zähen Flüssigkeit'' ("Influence of the container walls on the resistance against movement by a small ball in a viscous fluid"). One of his contributions was to formulate Faxén's law, which is a correction to Stokes' law for the friction on spherical objects in a viscous fluid, valid in the case when the object moves close to a wall of the container. This was a problem previously treated by Carl Wilhelm Oseen (1910) and Horace Lamb (1911), but incompletely solved. Karl Hilding Hagberg (28 October 1899 – 17 December 1993) was a Swedish communist politician. He was the leader of the Communist Party of Sweden from 1951 to 1964. History Hagberg was born in Gällivare in Norrbotten County. As a miner working in Malmberget he joined the Communist Party of Sweden in his youth. He was editor of the communist newspaper '' Norrskensflamman'' from 1930 to 1935, and political editor of the Communist Party's main newspaper '' Ny Dag'' from 1943 to 1964. He was a member of the executive board of the Communist Party of Sweden from 1930 to 1964, and a member of the lower house of the Parliament of Sweden from 1933 to 1964. Hilding Köhler
Hilding Köhler (1888–1982) was a professor of meteorology at the University of Uppsala in Uppsala, Sweden who performed groundbreaking research in cloud physics. In particular, he performed both theoretical and experimental studies on the growth and condensation of water droplets on hygroscopic nuclei. One important and often quoted result of his theoretical research resulted in the well-known Köhler curve. He also made important contributions to theoretical studies on turbulence in the atmosphere. Early life Hilding Köhler was born in Tranemo in 1888, the son of Agnes Hulteni Fredrika Molander and Anders Leonard Köhler. Hilding Alfred Swanson (June 30, 1885 – March 29, 1964) was an American politician and lawyer. Swanson was born in Sweden and he emigrated with his parents to the United States and eventually settled in Brainerd, Minnesota in 1890. He went to the Brainerd public schools. Swanson received his bachelor's degrees from Valparaiso University in 1908 and 1900 and his law degree from Yale Law School in 1912. Swanson was admitted to the Minnesota bar. Knud Hilding (21 November 1921 – 14 September 1975) was a Danish film actor. Hilding was born in Copenhagen on 21 November 1921. After graduating from the Frederiksberg Theatre School, Hilding was then employed at the Aarhus Theatre and appeared in several Copenhagen theatres after that. For a while he appeared as Pierrot in Pantomime Theatre in Tivoli. OnTV he appeared in the series ''Huset på Christianshavn'' and ''Livsens ondskab'', amongst others.
