Highland Heights is a home rule-class city in Campbell County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 6,923 at the 2010 U.S. census. Highland Heights is home to Northern Kentucky University and General Cable, a Fortune 500 company whose present headquarters were constructed in 1992. It is located in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. History The area has been known as "the Highlands" since the 19th century. The District of the Highlands was incorporated in 1867; Fort Thomas was separately incorporated from its northern reaches in 1914. Highland Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. A suburb of Cleveland, Highland Heights is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 8,719. History Highland Heights was originally part of Mayfield Township. Highland Heights used to be home to the Front Row Theater, which operated between 1974 and 1993. In 1988, musician Roy Orbison played his last show there, two days prior to his death. Highland Heights was the first city in Cuyahoga County to require new residential neighborhoods to have underground wiring and ornamental lamp posts. Highland Heights (also sometimes known as Mitchell Heights) is a neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee which grew up around the intersection of National Street and Summer Avenue. At its beginning, it was in the county as a rural community, east of the Memphis city limits. The land of the John Pope family cotton plantation was subdivided after the death in 1865 of the pater familias. John was the son of Leroy Pope, founder of Huntsville, Alabama, also a planter, and Yale-educated. He practiced law before settling down to raise cotton and his children. He informed himself of the latest innovations in cotton cultivation, maximizing yields and winning awards. When Memphis Confederates surrendered to the invading Union Army, John had harvested a record crop, which he promptly burned to prevent any benefit or succor to the enemy.
