Highfield Park, Nova Scotia
Highfield Park is a neighbourhood located in the north end of the community of Dartmouth in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. Highfield Park is located in the larger neighbourhood of Albro Lake (also a part of the North End) and is situated on the former site of the Royal Canadian Navy's Naval Radio Station Albro Lake. Following the merger of Canada's military to form the unified Canadian Forces in 1968, Naval Radio Station Albro Lake was closed and the land surrounding the lake was opened for development during the 1970s and 1980s. Highfield Park is situated at the northern extremity of Dartmouth, immediately south of Highway 111, which separates the neighbourhood from an industrial park in Burnside further to the north. The eastern side of Highfield Park is defined by the neighbourhood of Crystal Heights (as well as Highway 111 as it curves around Albro Lake). Mic Mac Mall is Atlantic Canada's largest enclosed shopping mall located in the community of Dartmouth, across the harbour from Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is owned and managed by Mic Mac Mall Limited Partnership. With stores on three levels, Mic Mac Mall is a major shopping destination for the Maritimes and the only location for Decathlon east of Quebec. Clayton Park, Nova Scotia
Clayton Park is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. History The community of Clayton Park is named after a family that owned property in the area extending up the southern slope of Geizer's Hill. On 12 July 1962, the Clayton Park development began when it received approval from the Municipality of the County of Halifax. Clayton Park was created as an upper middle class community and its prime developer was the Shaw company, which placed certain architectural requirements for houses and apartments, among which was a high percentage of brick; Shaw being the largest brick manufacturer in Atlantic Canada. It is located in the Halifax Regional Municipality and connects southeastern Dartmouth at Trunk 7 with Cole Harbour at Route 207. Burnside is a Canadian urban neighbourhood located along the northeast shore of Bedford Basin of the Halifax Regional Municipality in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. History Burnside was the name originally given to the farm of Duncan Waddell, a Scotsman who had settled the area. Nova Scotia Highway 111
Highway 111 is a controlled-access highway in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. Highway 111 varies in width from 4-12 lanes and is known colloquially as the Circumferential Highway, or, more recently, "the Circ", because it forms a partial orbital road around Dartmouth. The highway runs from Pleasant Street in the neighbourhood of Woodside in the south to the A. Murray MacKay Bridge in the north. It serves as a key transportation link for Dartmouth and Halifax.
