Higher (The Overtones Album)
''Higher'' is the second studio album by the five-piece British-Irish doo-wop boy band The Overtones. The album was released on 1 October 2012 in the UK via Rhino Entertainment. The album was preceded by the release of the lead single, " Loving the Sound". The band worked with a number of well-known producers on the album, including Trevor Horn, Walter Afanasieff and Steve Robson, as well as production team Future Cut, who produced most of the original tracks on the album. Promotion On 29 September 2012 the band appeared on an episode of ''Red or Black?'', appearing as part of a challenge involving using a handkerchief in their performance. They performed three songs in a medley, including the album's lead single "Loving the Sound". On 9 December 2012 they appeared as special guest performers in the final episode of the ninth series of '' The Xtra Factor''. The Overtones
The Overtones are a UK based vocal harmony group. They were discovered by a Warner Bros. Records' talent scout while working as decorators in a shop near Oxford Street, singing during their tea break. Their first album, '' Good Ol' Fashioned Love'', entered the UK Albums Chart at #16 in November 2010. After its re-release in March 2011, it reached #4. More than 500,000 copies of their first album have been sold. History The members were originally in a band called DYYCE, which then reformed as Lexi Joe, which formed the basis of The Overtones. With four members originally – Mark Franks, Mike Crawshaw, Darren Everest and Timmy Matley – the band had been performing for several years. A boy band is loosely defined as a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation. Dion Francis DiMucci (born July 18, 1939), better known simply as Dion, is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. His music has incorporated elements of doo-wop, pop, rock, R&B, folk and blues. Initially as the lead singer of Dion and the Belmonts, and then during his solo career, Dion was one of the most popular American rock and roll performers of the pre-British Invasion era. He had 39 Top 40 hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a solo performer, or with the Belmonts and the Del-Satins. Electric is a Norwegian songwriting and production duo, composed of Henrik Barman Michelsen and Edvard Førre Erfjord. Phil Thornalley
Philip Thornalley (born 5 January 1960) is an English songwriter-producer who has worked in the music industry since 1978. He is perhaps best known for co-writing (with Scott Cutler and Anne Preven) the song " Torn" (made famous by Natalie Imbruglia's cover version, which he also produced) and the UK number one hits " Mama Do" and " Boys and Girls" for Pixie Lott. He also produced The Cure's 1982 album ''Pornography'' and was later their bass player for eighteen months, producing and performing the distinctive double bass line on their 1983 single " The Love Cats". Jon Green (born 16 July 1985) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Early life Green was born in Southport, Queensland, Australia. Green lived in Perth and played junior footy for South Perth Lions in the Western Australia Rugby League competition. The National Lottery
The National Lottery is the state-franchising, franchised national lottery established in 1994 in the United Kingdom. It is regulated by the Gambling Commission, and is currently operated by Camelot Group, to which the licence was granted in 1994, 2001 and again in 2007, but will be operated by Allwyn Entertainment Ltd from 2024.
