High School Musical (film Series)
''High School Musical'' is an American media franchise centered on a series of musical romantic comedy-drama films created by Peter Barsocchini. The franchise also includes stage musicals, books, comics, live shows, video games, and a television series. The first film was released simply as a Disney Channel Original Movie, but after its huge success, it was followed by a television sequel. The third film received a theatrical release. Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman starred in the trilogy. Tisdale and Grabeel reprised their roles as Sharpay and Ryan Evans in a spin-off on the series titled '' Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure'', ultimately released as both a direct-to-video film and a Disney Channel Original Movie. Peter Barsocchini is an American screenwriter, author, former journalist, and television producer best known for his scripts for the ''High School Musical'' series. Early life and education Barsocchini began his professional writing career while attending high school in the San Francisco Bay Area, writing more than 300 columns about popular music for ''The San Mateo Times''. He also worked as a freelance reporter for the Associated Press and the ''San Francisco Examiner'', and contributed reviews to the Associated Press and ''Rolling Stone''. Barsocchini graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in creative writing. Jorge Nisco (born March 6, 1956, in Bernal, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine director and assistant director best known for Killer Women (2005), Epitafios (2004), and Malparida (2010ref> Career Jorge Nisco started his career in 1997, when he met actor Adrián Suar, who pitched him an idea for a TV show called ''"R.R.D.T"''.
