High Noon Saloon
The High Noon Saloon is a live music venue located in Madison, Wisconsin. About The venue features rock, metal, alternative, punk, alt-country, pop, indie, bluegrass, blues, and folk music, hosting national acts, smaller touring bands from around the globe, as well as local music groups. The High Noon has a country-western vibe, and is named after the western themed Gary Cooper film, '' High Noon''. History The High Noon Saloon opened on May 5, 2004, in Madison Wisconsin. It was founded by Cathy Dethmers to replace O'Cayz Corral, which was destroyed in a 2001 fire. The building previously housed the "Buy & Sell" shop, a Madison resale shop with an unusually large neon colored fish on its roof. Numerous national and local bands practiced and recorded in the basement of the Buy & Sell shop who would eventually play upstairs in the High Noon Saloon. O'Cayz Corral
O'Cayz Corral was a downtown Madison, Wisconsin bar and music venue that primarily featured local and national punk, rock, and grunge musical acts. History Located in Madison, Wisconsin, United States, O'Cayz Corral was originally named Don's Shell (Owned by Don & Cay Millard) and later renamed Millard's Bar. Catherine "Cay" Millard became sole owner of the tavern in 1980 and changed the name to O'Cayz Corral, a country-western themed bar with a legal capacity of 150. Sometime in the early 80's Cay began to ask local musicians such as Pat MacDonald (who later formed Timbuk 3) if they would like to play at the venue, but it was not until The Replacements were booked for two back-to-back shows that the venue became well known for live music. Turbonegro (Turboneger in Norway) is a Norwegian rock band, active from 1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to the present. The band combines glam rock, punk rock, and hard rock into a self-described "deathpunk" musical style. History Early years (1989–1994) Turbonegro formed in Oslo during the winter of 1988–1989. ''Ass Cobra'' is the third full-length studio album by Norwegian punk rock band Turbonegro. It was first released in May 1996 on Boomba Records in Germany and in 1997 on Sympathy for the Record Industry in the United States. It was re-released in 1998 on Bitzcore Records in Germany and on Get Hip Records in the US, and in 2003 on Epitaph Records in the US and Burning Heart Records in Sweden.
