Cedartown is a city and the county seat of Polk County, Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 10,190. Cedartown is the principal city of and is included in the Cedartown, Georgia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Gainesville, Georgia-Alabama (part) Combined Statistical Area. Selectric Records was an independent record label based in Franklin, TN. Their roster was made up of a number of rock bands, including Monday Morning, Cross Culture (now known as Over Ashes), Dalton, Pivitplex, Homeless J., and High Flight Society. Selectric Records was started by industry veterans, John Elefante & Dino Elefante. Closing In December 2006 Selectric Records officially closed their doors. Prior to Selectric Records closing, Cross Culture and Monday Morning had bought out of their recording contracts. Rocketown Records
Rocketown Records was an independent record label which was started in 1996 by Michael W. Smith. In the fall of 1995, met with Don Donahue, A&R director at Reunion Records, to discuss creation of the label. In 1996, Word Records bought a minority share of the company. Imprint In 2006, Rocketown started the RKT Music imprint label to concentrate on a younger demographic. The first album released was ''Lifegiver'' by Hyper Static Union as a partnership between Rocketown and the Christian rock band Third Day. Hyper Static Union was signed to a production deal with Third Day's Consuming Fire Productions. Additional releases by RKT include ''Learning to Lose'' by the Turning and High Flight Society. Word Records is a Christian faith-based entertainment company based in Nashville, Tennessee. It is owned by Curb Records, and is a part of Word Entertainment. It is distributed by Warner Records (the former Warner Bros. Records). History In 1951, Word Records was founded in Waco, Texas by Jarrell McCracken, Baylor business major Henry SoRelle and radio/television executive Ted Snider. The label's name is based on a 16-minute spoken word recording written and narrated by McCracken, the first recording released by the label, entitled "The Game of Life". Disciple is an American Christian metal and rock band from Knoxville, Tennessee, formed in 1992. Since its formation, the band has released 12 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 1 live extended play, and 1 compilation album. History Early releases (1992–1998) Disciple was formed in December 1992 by high school friends Kevin Young, Brad Noah, Adrian DiTommasi and Tim Barrett. The band played its first show in May 1993 at Topside Church of God in Louisville, TN and recorded its first three-song demo at Nightsong Studios with Producer Jesse Jones. Jason Scott Wilkes (born September 12, 1984), known as Jason Wilkes, is a musician, singer and songwriter in the Christian rock genre. He is the former frontman for High Flight Society and is currently the lead vocalist of his own solo venture, Wilkes. Early life Wilkes was born in Cedartown, Georgia, United States, and lived there until he married. He attended Cedar Hill Middle School. He gave an audition during the school's talent show on April 1, 1999. He attended the University of West Georgia, and studied Auto Body & Paint at Coosa Valley Technical College. Bands High Flight Society (2001–2012) After around two years of recording demos and performing local gigs, High Flight Society began searching for a frontman.
