High Bridge Arms
High Bridge Arms was a gun shop located in the city of San Francisco. It was originally opened in the 1950s by Bob Chow, who had competed as a pistol shooter at the 1948 Olympics. It was located at 3185 Mission Street in the city's Bernal Heights, San Francisco, Bernal Heights neighborhood. High Bridge Arms has been a point of controversy as to whether it is creating crime in the area of its location. It has been closed in the past but was open and licensed as of 2012. It closed in late 2015. While the owner did not state a reason in public, media reports connected the closure to the concerns he had voiced several weeks earlier about new city regulations on firearms sales that were being proposed by Board of Supervisors member Mark Farrell (politician), Mark Farrell. However, in 2018 it was revealed that shortly before the closure, ATF officials had recommended to revoke the license of High Bridge Arms because of "numerous, repeated serious violations of the Gun Control Act of 19 ...

Gun Shop
A gun shop (also known by various other names such as firearm store and gun store) is a business that sells firearms, such as handguns and long guns, to individuals in an open shopping format. It may also provide repairs for firearms and their parts. Other items such as ammunition, hunting accessories, food, clothing, and even souvenirs may be sold in the store as well. Often having designs reminiscent of other establishments such as department stores and grocery stores, gun shops operate under widely different gun control laws depending on the specific nation, locality, and jurisdiction involved. Some locations may only employ a single gunsmith in a small space, while others might have many individuals working in a large space. Although the advent of online shopping has changed the business of gun stores, the ability for customers to interact face to face with store dealers often is seen as having advantages, examples being personally guiding individuals buying firearms throug ...

Gun Control Act Of 1968
The Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA or GCA68) is a U.S. federal law that regulates the firearms industry and firearms ownership. Due to constitutional limitations, the Act is primarily based on regulating interstate commerce in firearms by generally prohibiting interstate firearms transfers except by manufacturers, dealers and importers licensed under a scheme set up under the Act. The GCA was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 22, 1968, and is Title I of the U.S. federal firearms laws. The National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) is Title II. Both GCA and NFA are enforced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). GCA repealed the Federal Firearms Act of 1938, though many of its provisions were reenacted as part of the GCA, which revised the FFA and its predecessor, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). History The bill was initially prompted by the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963. The President was shot and ki ...

Retail Buildings In California
Retail is the sale of goods and services to consumers, in contrast to wholesaling, which is sale to business or institutional customers. A retailer purchases goods in large quantities from manufacturers, directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells in smaller quantities to consumers for a profit. Retailers are the final link in the supply chain from producers to consumers. Retail markets and shops have a very ancient history, dating back to antiquity. Some of the earliest retailers were itinerant peddlers. Over the centuries, retail shops were transformed from little more than "rude booths" to the sophisticated shopping malls of the modern era. In the digital age, an increasing number of retailers are seeking to reach broader markets by selling through multiple channels, including both bricks and mortar and online retailing. Digital technologies are also affecting the way that consumers pay for goods and services. Retailing support services may also include the provision of ...
