Yatsuka District, Shimane
was a Districts of Japan, district located in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 59,733 and a population density, density of 169.95 persons per km2. The total area was 351.47 km2. Yatsuka District is notable for being the birthplace of sumo wrestler Jinmaku Kyūgorō, Jinmaku, the 12th Yokozuna (sumo), Yokozuna in 1829. Shimane Prefecture
is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chūgoku region of Honshu. Shimane Prefecture is the second-least populous prefecture of Japan at 665,205 (February 1, 2021) and has a geographic area of 6,708.26 km2. Matsue, Shimane
is the capital city of Shimane Prefecture, Japan, located in the Chūgoku region of Honshu.
