Deltasonic
Deltasonic is a British record label based in Liverpool, England. Previously joint ventured with Sony Music, it is now totally independent. It was formed by Alan Wills, the former drummer with Liverpool bands Shack and Top, and associated with the ' cosmic Scouse' and 'scallydelica' music scenes. History Aiming to be like Mo'Wax, Wills started his first label EVA in January 2000, primarily to release material by Joe Fearon a.k.a. Paracruzar. However, after three promo-only releases on clear 10-inch vinyl, including the first release by 'Mountaineers' (credited on the record as 'The Sandpeople'), he decided to move on to new areas and, with the help of his partner Ann Heston and consultancy from Simon Duffy (Tri Tone), he started a new label called Deltasonic Records. ''Hidden Charms'' is a blues album by Willie Dixon, released in 1988 on Bug/ Capitol Records. It won a 1989 Grammy Award. Production The album was produced by T Bone Burnett. The band was made up of Cash McCall and Burnett on guitars, Sugar Blue on harmonica, Red Callender on bass, Lafayette Leake on piano, and Earl Palmer on drums. "Study War No More" was cowritten by Dixon's grandson. Critical reception ''The Globe and Mail'' wrote that "the band is excellent - rootsy and tough but not overpowering - and, while Dixon's hardly a mesmerizing singer, his gruff grandfatherly voice has a plaintive soulfullness that suits his more recent songs." ''Mashmakhan'' is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Mashmakhan. Mashmakhan debuted with the single "As the Years Go By" which became a major success selling millions of copies around the world. After three singles, Mashmakhan released their self-titled debut LP album. After the album was released the group released their second album entitled '' The Family''. Later, tracks from the album were featured in several different '70s rock compilation albums as well as two were sampled in some rap tracks. The album was also well received by critics getting a four out of five star review from AllMusic. Release and promotion Mashmakhan debuted with the single "As the Years Go By" which became a smash hit and was released in an edited form. Rita Lynch
Rita Lynch is an English singer-songwriter who achieved a profile in the UK in the early 1990s and was the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, filmed as part of the ''Out'' series. Her music has been used in a Channel 4 drama, ''Rosebud'', and in British horror movie ''Vampire Diary''. Her sound has been described as P. J. Harvey meets at the Drive-In with a dose of the usual dark ambience that accompanies many Bristol releases. She retains a devoted following today and continues to record and perform. Her live performances currently feature a three-piece line-up with Mike Youe and John Langley ( Blue Aeroplanes, Witness, The Mekons, Strangelove, Saturation Point) on drums. She is also known for her time as backing singer and guitarist with cult Bristol band The Blue Aeroplanes.
