Hezbollah Social Services
Hezbollah social services are social development programs organized by the Lebanese paramilitary group, Hezbollah. Hezbollah's popularity among the Lebanese Shiite population, historically one of the poorest communities in Lebanon, comes partly from the social services it provides. Social services have a central role in the party's programs, closely linked to its military and politico-religious functions. Most experts believe that Hezbollah's social and health programs are worth hundreds of millions of dollars annually. Hezbollah
Hezbollah (; ar, حزب الله ', , also transliterated Hizbullah or Hizballah, among others) is a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and militant group, led by its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah since 1992. Hezbollah's paramilitary wing is the Jihad Council, and its political wing is the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc party in the Lebanese Parliament. After the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, the idea of Hezbollah arose among Lebanese clerics who had studied in Najaf, and who adopted the model set out by Ayatollah Khomeini after the Iranian Revolution in 1979. After failing to agree on a name for the new organisation, the party's founders adopted the name chosen by Ayatollah Khomeini, Hezbollah. Jihad Al Binna
Jihād al-Binā' ( ar, جهاد البناء, meaning "Effort for Reconstruction") is a development foundation run by Hezbollah in Lebanon. The purpose of the organization is to help alleviate the consequences of the Lebanese Civil War and Hezbollah's resistance against Israel. The organization is well known for infrastructure construction projects, educational projects, and helping shelter refugees of the various conflicts that have plagued Lebanon in the recent past. The foundation had built 1,200 homes by 1993 and 16,000 by 2006. The headquarters of Jihād al-Binā' are located in the southern suburbs of Beirut. In 2021, Iran sent five fuel tankers, all under the flag of Iran, to Lebanon. Since the financial crisis of Lebanon on August 2019, the country is experiencing a chronic shortage of fuel. The tankers were loaded from Iranian ports, after reaching the Syrian port, be trucked to Lebanon. Shipment delivery was made for Hezbullah. 2023 Turkey–Syria Earthquake
On 6 February 2023, at 04:17 Time in Turkey, TRT (01:17 Coordinated Universal Time, UTC), a 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. The epicenter was west–northwest of Gaziantep. The earthquake had a maximum Modified Mercalli intensity scale, Mercalli intensity of XII (''Extreme'') around the epicenter and in Antakya.
