Heythrop Zoological Gardens
Heythrop Zoological Gardens is a private zoo and animal training centre in Heythrop, near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The zoo has the largest private collection of exotic animals in the United Kingdom. The site also houses Amazing Animals, an animal training company that provides exotic animals for the film industry. The company provides the majority of "zoo-type" animals for British film sets. Zoo Construction of Heythrop Zoological Gardens began in 1990 at a site close to Heythrop Park in Heythrop, near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The zoo states it was inspired architecturally by London Zoo, but built to modern animal welfare standards. The zoo planned an expansion in 2017 to add a new lion enclosure and a residential house, these were rejected due to their visual impact on the surrounding countryside. Heythrop
Heythrop is a village and civil parish just over east of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The parish includes the hamlet of Dunthrop. The 2001 Census recorded the parish population as 93. History Heythrop had a Norman parish church of Saint Nicholas, but the nave has been demolished and only the chancel has been preserved as a mortuary chapel. The chapel's west doorway was the south doorway of the former nave. In 1657 an attempt to merge the Benefices of Enstone and Heythrop was abandoned in the face of local opposition. In 1923 the incumbent of Heythrop ceased to live in the parish and in 1964 it and Enstone were finally merged. In 2001 the Benefice of Enstone and Heythrop merged with that of Ascott-under-Wychwood, Chadlington, and Spelsbury to form the Chase Benefice. Chris Packham
Christopher Gary Packham CBE (born 4 May 1961) is an English naturalist, nature photographer, television presenter and author, best known for his television work including the CBBC children's nature series ''The Really Wild Show'' from 1986 to 1995. He has also presented the BBC nature series ''Springwatch'', including ''Autumnwatch'' and ''Winterwatch'', since 2009. Early life Packham was born in Southampton, Hampshire on 4 May 1961. He was educated at Bitterne Park Secondary School, Taunton's College and the University of Southampton, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. ''Alan Carr: Chatty Man'' (also simply known as ''Chatty Man'') is a British comedy chat show presented by comedian Alan Carr.
