Hey Joel
''Hey Joel'' is an American adult animated television series that aired on VH1 in 2003. It is about Joel Stein, the host of a three-minute rock-star interview show on VH1 called "3 minutes with Joel". However, he is anything but respectful to his famous guests, often badgering them with aggressive, pointless, irreverent, and often insulting questions. Jon Cryer provides the voicing for the part of Joel. His coworkers include Michele (Daphne Rubin-Vega), his producer, on whom he has a crush; Kevin ( Jacob Tierney), his production assistant; Leif (Josh Alexander), his nemesis, who is VH1's star; and Z (Nancy Giles), the all-business head of programming. Joel Stein (born July 23, 1971) is an American journalist who wrote for the ''Los Angeles Times''. He wrote a column and occasional articles for ''Time'' for 19 years until 2017. Early life Stein grew up in Edison, New Jersey, the son of a salesman. He is Jewish. Stein attended J.P. Stevens High School, where he was a writer and entertainment editor for ''Hawkeye'', the student newspaper. He majored in English at Stanford University and wrote a weekly column for the school's student newspaper, ''The Stanford Daily''. He graduated in 1993 with a BA and an MA and moved to New York City, and then to Los Angeles in 2005. Career Stein's career began as a writer and researcher for '' Martha Stewart Living''. He worked a year for Stewart and later quipped that she had fired him twice in the same day. VH1 (originally an initialism of Video Hits One) is an American basic cable television network based in New York City and owned by Paramount Global.
