Hesters Store is an unincorporated community in Person County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at the intersection of Gordonton Road(State Road 1102) with Hesters Store Road (State Road 1162) and Wilson Road (State Road 1162). The community derives its name from a country store that stood near the intersection for more than a century. In 1994, the most recent country store structure was converted into a fire station, the Hesters Store station of the Hurdle Mills Volunteer Fire Department. Prospect Hill is a small unincorporated community in Hightowers Township, Caswell County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at the intersection of North Carolina Highways 49 and 86. It is in extreme southeastern Caswell County. Warren House and Warren's Store are listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Yanceyville is a town in and the county seat of Caswell County, North Carolina, United States. Located in the Piedmont Triad region of the state, the town had a population of 1,937 at the 2020 census. The settlement was founded in 1792 and was later named Yanceyville in honor of U.S. Congressman Bartlett Yancey, Jr., when chartered as an incorporated town in 1833. There are three public schools in Yanceyville as well as a satellite campus for Piedmont Community College. Maud F. Gatewood Municipal Park and Caswell Community Arboretum are popular recreational areas. Yanceyville Municipal Airport serves general aviation aircraft. Leasburg is a former town and the former county seat of Caswell County, North Carolina, United States. The community has a partial presence in Person County. The population was 1,662 at the 2010 census. It was named in honor of longtime resident William Lea and is located along US 158 and NC 119 near Hyco Lake. Leasburg is also the name of a Caswell County township. History When Caswell County was created in 1777, the area that would become Leasburg was named as the county seat; however, a county courthouse was not built on the site until 1784, after the American Revolutionary War.
