The Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art ( he, מוזיאון הרצליה לאמנות) is contemporary art museum. History The museum was established in 1965 in Herzeliya, Israel. The museum's main focus is on Israeli and international contemporary art. The museum building was designed by the architect Yaakov Rechter. The museum does not have a permanent collection, and hosts painting, sculpture, video, installation, photography and architecture exhibitions, as well as video installations and digital media exhibitions. The museum has an educational program MUZA – A Place for Visual Experience. It holds different activities in the fields of video art and photography, including workshops and courses. The museum is known for promotion of collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian artists by showing group exhibitions and organizing meetings and workshops for artists to work together. Miki Kratsman is an Israeli photographer, photojournalist and activist. Biography Miki Kratsman was born in Argentina in 1959. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1971. He studied photography at Kiryat Ono College. His spouse is Israeli fashion designer Dorin Frankfurt. Photography career He worked as photojournalist in ''Hadashot'' newspaper until 1993, when the newspaper was closed. Kratsman joined ''Haaretz'' newspaper, where he worked until 2012. Kratsman taught at Camera Obscura College of Photography in Tel Aviv from 1997 to 1999; School for Geographic Photography of Tel Aviv from 1998 to 2006; Department of Art in Haifa University from 2002 to 2006. Aziz + Cucher, consisting of Anthony Aziz and Sammy Cucher, are American artists working collaboratively since meeting in graduate school in 1990 at the San Francisco Art Institute. They are considered pioneers in the field of digital imaging and post-photography, with projects exhibited at numerous international venues, including the 46th Venice Biennale in 1995, the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Uriel Miron ( he, אוריאל מירון; born 1968) is an Israeli artist and sculptor. Biography Uriel Miron was born in Tel Aviv in 1968. His grandmother is Dvora Schocken, An Israeli art collector. For many years he lived with his father, the literary critic Dan Miron, in the United States. Ilit Azoulay
Ilit Azoulay (born 1972) is an Israeli artist of Moroccan origins based in Berlin. Life and career Azoulay was born in the Jaffa district of Tel Aviv, Israel. Her parents both emigrated from Morocco to Israel in the 1940s and 1950s. She attended the photography department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem where she later went on to teach at. She lives and works in Berlin. Parastou Forouhar (born 1962 in Tehran) is an Iranian installation artist who lives and works out of Frankfurt, Germany. Forouhar's art reflects her criticism of the Iranian government and often plays with the ideas of identity. Her artwork expresses a critical response towards the politics in Iran and Islamic Fundamentalism. Jacobus Hermanus Pieters Geers, commonly known as Kendell Geers, is a South African conceptual artist. Geers lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. Biography Kendell Geers was born in Leondale, a working-class suburb on the East Rand outside Johannesburg, South Africa, into an Afrikaans family during the time of apartheid. Uri Gershuni is an Israeli photographer and educator. Biography Uri Gershuni was born in Raanana in 1970. He is son of Israeli painter Moshe Gershuni and sculptor and jewelry designer Bianca Eshel Gershuni.
