Heron Gate or Herongate is a neighbourhood in Alta Vista Ward and Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is defined by the Herongate Tenant Coalition as being bounded on the north by Heron Road (Ottawa), Heron Road, on the west by Heron-Walkley Park and Albion Road (Ottawa), Albion Road, and by the Walkley rail corridor on the south. The total population for this area (excluding the Oak apartments on Albion which are in a different Census block) according to the Canada 2016 Census was 9,714. There are several parks in the neighbourhood, and is served by Ridgemont High School (Ottawa), Ridgemont High School), St. Patrick's High School, St. Patrick Intermediate and Charles Hulse Elementary School for education. The area has train tracks to the south. It is one of the most densely populated neighbourhoods in the city. Ridgemont High School. It is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board secondary school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school is located at 2597 Alta Vista Drive in the Alta Vista neighbourhood of Ottawa. It is next door to St. Patrick's High School, a Roman Catholic high school, and Charles Hulse Elementary School, also in the OCDSB. History Work began on Ridgemont in 1957 when Prime Minister John Diefenbaker laid the cornerstone. Under Principal J. B. Speers, the school opened the next year, one of a series of composite schools built by the Ottawa Collegiate Board during the 1950s and 1960s to deal with the baby boom and increasing school attendance. Ridgemont was planned and designed at the same time as Rideau High School and Laurentian High School. Ridgemont opened a year earlier than the other two. Ellwood is a neighbourhood and former railway point in River Ward, in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. South Keys is a neighbourhood in Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded by Johnston Road to the north, Albion Road to the east, the Airport Parkway to the west, and Hunt Club Road to the south. According to the Canada 2011 Census, the neighbourhood has a population of 2,849. The neighbourhood is part of the South Keys Greenboro Community Association. Herongate Mall
Herongate is a village in south Essex, England. The village is situated on the A128 road between Brentwood and West Horndon. The population of the village is listed in the civil parish of Herongate and Ingrave. History Herongate goes back to the Saxon period, The Anglo-Saxon and medieval settlements were devoted to arable and livestock farming. Herongate was part of the parish of East Horndon; the tradition that the name derived from a heronry there is apocryphal, and it probably derives from the Heron family who held Heron Hall into the fourteenth century.
