Hero Of Artsakh
Hero of Artsakh ( hy, Արցախի հերոս, Artsakhi heros) is the highest title of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. According to the official website of the President of Artsakh, the title Hero of Artsakh "is awarded for exceptional services in the defense of the state, strengthening its economic might, and for creating significant national values." Recipients of the title are decorated with the Order of the Golden Eagle. In 2016 Robert Abajyan became the 24th "Hero of Artsakh" awardee, as well as the youngest person ever to hold the title at 19 years old. During and after 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war 23 servicemen were awarded the highest state title of "Hero of Artsakh". The president of Artsakh or president of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is the head of state and head of government of the ''de facto'' Republic of Artsakh. In a constitutional referendum held in 2017, citizens of the Republic voted in favor of transforming Artsakh into a presidential system. Samvel Karapetyan (general)
Samvel Jamili Karapetyan (; born September 11, 1962), also known by his nom de guerre Oganovsky, is an Armenian military commander from the Republic of Artsakh who participated in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. He holds the rank of major general in the Artsakh Defense Army and has received the award Hero of Artsakh. Biography Samvel Karapetyan was born on September 11, 1962 in Stepanakert in the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast, then a part of the Azerbaijan SSR. He served in the Soviet military from 1981 to 1983. He participated in the Karabakh movement to unite Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and in the defense of Armenian settlements from 1988. Artur Aslani Mkrtchyan ( hy, Արթուր Ասլանի Մկրտչյան; 16 February 1959 – 14 April 1992) was the first Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, elected on 7 January 1992. Armenak Urfanyan ( hy, Արմենակ Ուրֆանյան; 28 January 1990 – 2 April 2016) was an Armenian serviceman in the Artsakh Defense Army, captain of the Armed Forces of Armenia, participant of the Four-Day War.
