Herman Mostert
Herman Mostert (born 13 February 1969) is a South African former rugby union player who appeared in 18 World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments as a member of the South Africa national rugby sevens team between 1999 and 2001. Rugby career Club career In college, Mostert played for Stellenbosch University as a wing. He played rugby in the United States with the Mystic River Rugby Club from 1990 to 1992, helping the Boston based club to the USA Rugby National Championship match in 1992. Mostert was later a member of the Western Province team which won the 2000 Currie Cup. International career He made his debut for South Africa in February 1999 at the Fiji Sevens and would make appearances at Hong Kong and Paris Sevens later that year. Somerset West

1999–2000 World Sevens Series
The 1999–2000 World Sevens Series was the first season of the World Rugby Sevens Series, global circuit for men's national rugby sevens teams, organised by the World Rugby, International Rugby Board (now known as World Rugby). The series ran from December 1999 to May 2000 and incorporated ten tournaments spread over five continents. New Zealand national rugby sevens team, New Zealand was the series champion, winning five of the tournament events. Fiji national rugby sevens team, Fiji finished as runner-up, eight points behind despite winning the remaining five tournaments. 2001 Tokyo Sevens
The 2001 Tokyo Sevens was an international rugby sevens tournament that was part of the World Sevens Series in the 2000–01 season. It was the Japan Sevens leg held at Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Tokyo on 29–30 April 2001. The tournament was the seventh event of the series, and was won by New Zealand who defeated Australia 26–12 in the Cup final. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each. The 2001 Kuala Lumpur Sevens was an international rugby sevens tournament that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the sixth leg of the 2000–01 World Sevens Series. It was the first Malaysia Sevens tournament to be hosted as part of the World Sevens Series, and the event took place at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on 21–22 April 2001. In their first event as hosts, Malaysia were defeated 36–5 by Canada in the Bowl quarterfinals whilst Australia won back to back Sevens titles for the first time by defeating New Zealand 19–17 in the Cup final. The 2001 Wellington Sevens, also known as the 2001 New Zealand Sevens, was an international rugby sevens tournament that was held in Wellington, New Zealand as the third leg of the 2000–01 World Sevens Series. The tournament took place at the Westpac Stadium on 9–10 February 2001. The hosts, New Zealand, lost their first match of the season as they were defeated 19–17 by defending Wellington Sevens champions Fiji in the Cup quarterfinals. This was only the second time that a New Zealand sevens side had failed to reach the Cup final of World Sevens Series event.
