Heritage USA
Heritage USA was an American Christian-themed water park, theme park and residential complex in Fort Mill, South Carolina, built by televangelist Jim Bakker and his wife Tammy Faye Bakker, founders of ''The PTL Club''. The park, which occupied , was built by church builder Roe Messner. Since its closure in 1989, projects have been constructed on the land it once occupied, portions of which have been sold to several companies. The former Heritage USA facilities in Fort Mill, South Carolina, which were purchased by MorningStar Fellowship Church in 2004, were renamed Heritage International Ministries (H.I.M.). History Heritage USA opened in 1978, and by 1986, it attracted nearly 6 million visitors annually and employed around 2,500 people. Heritage International Ministries
Heritage International Ministries (H.I.M.) is an Evangelical Christianity, Christian hotel & convention center in Fort Mill, South Carolina. History MorningStar Ministries was founded by Rick Joyner and wife Julie in 1985. In 2004, MorningStar Fellowship Church purchased Heritage USA. The facilities include a 501-room Heritage Grand Hotel and Conference Center, the adjacent unfinished 21-story Heritage Towers, the area of the now demolished "Sand Castle" (originally to have been a Wendy's restaurant) and of adjoining property. MorningStar holds church services in the hotel atrium and has restored practically all of the 501 hotel rooms. The hotel is now used as a retreat and conference center. Disneyland
Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Disney initially envisioned building a tourist attraction adjacent to his studios in Burbank to entertain fans who wished to visit; however, he soon felt that the proposed site was too small. After hiring the Stanford Research Institute to perform a feasibility study determining an appropriate site for his project, Disney bought a site near Anaheim in 1953. The park was designed by a creative team hand-picked by Walt from internal and outside talent. They founded WED Enterprises, the precursor to today's Walt Disney Imagineering. Morris Cerullo
Morris Cerullo (October 2, 1931 – July 10, 2020) was an American Pentecostal evangelist. He traveled extensively around the world for his ministry. He hosted ''Victory Today'', a daily television program, and published more than 80 books. Cerrullo bought the assets of Jim Bakker's '' PTL'' ministry in 1990 including The Inspiration Network cable television network. He was the subject of criticism for some of his fund raising efforts, and for claims made on television programmes, particularly in the UK, regarding his healing ministry. Hurricane Hugo was a powerful Cape Verde tropical cyclone that inflicted widespread damage across the northeastern Caribbean and the Southeastern United States in September 1989. ''The PTL Club'', also known as ''The Jim and Tammy Show'', was a Christian television program that was first hosted by evangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, running from 1974 to 1989. The program was later known as ''PTL Today'' and as ''Heritage Today''. During its final years, ''The PTL Club'', which adopted a talk show format, was the flagship television program of the Bakkers' PTL Satellite Network. Jessica Hahn (born July 7, 1959) is an American model and actress. She accused televangelist Jim Bakker of rape while she was employed as a church secretary. She frequently appeared on ''The Howard Stern Show'' throughout the late 1980s and into the 2000s. Jerry Laymon Falwell Sr. (August 11, 1933 – May 15, 2007) was an American Baptist pastor, televangelism, televangelist, and conservatism in the United States, conservative activist.
