Heriot's Rugby Club
Heriot's Rugby Club, also known as Heriot's FP, is one of Scotland's senior rugby football clubs in the Scottish Rugby Union, whose Men's 1st XV play in the FOSROC . The women play in The club's home is in the Goldenacre area in Edinburgh.Bath, p89 The rugby club, founded in 1890, was originally intended for former pupils of George Heriot's School, but is now an open club, welcoming rugby players of all levels. Player development starts with a highly successful Mini/Midi Section and moves onto the senior levels. The club has coaching staff that are very well respected in Scottish rugby. Heriot's Rugby club are the only Scottish club never to have been relegated from the first division. The team had the surprising honour of having a player, Chris Fusaro, called for Scotland A for the IRB Nations Cup, in 2010. Scottish Rugby Union
The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU; gd, Aonadh Rugbaidh na h-Alba) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. Styled as Scottish Rugby, it is the second oldest Rugby Union, having been founded in 1873. Sam Pecqueur
Sam Pecqueur (born 26 August 1994) is a Scotland 7s international rugby union player. He plays for Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship and Heriots in the Super 6. Kenny Milne (born 1 December 1961 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a former Scotland international rugby union player who was capped 39 times. Ian Smith (Scottish Rugby Player Born 1903)
Ian Scott Smith (31 October 1903 – 18 September 1972) was a rugby union wing who played 32 Tests for Scotland and two Tests for the British Isles. Born in Melbourne, Australia, and brought up in New Zealand, Smith moved to England and was educated at Winchester College, before studying at Oxford University and later Edinburgh University. At Oxford he took up rugby and was eventually selected for Scotland, for whom he was eligible because of his Scottish parents. He toured with the British Isles (now known as the British and Irish Lions) to South Africa in 1924, and played all four matches in Scotland's first ever Five Nations Grand Slam in 1925. He represented Scotland until 1933 when he captained them in their Triple Crown winning season. Colin Blaikie (born 21 November 1941) is a former Scotland international rugby union player. Rugby Union career Amateur career He played for Heriot's. Provincial career He played for Edinburgh District. He was part of the Edinburgh side that won the 1962–63 Scottish Inter-District Championship, scoring in every match - and part of the Edinburgh side that beat Canada that same season. He played for the Whites Trial side in their matches against the Blues Trial to determine international selection. He turned out for Whites in their 2nd trial match in 1962-63 season.
