''Here to There'' is the second studio album by hip hop producer DJ Spinna. It is the eighth installment of BBE Beat Generation series, after releases by Pete Rock, J Dilla, DJ Jazzy Jeff, will.i.am and many others. It was released on February 3, 2003 on BBE Records. The album features appearances by various artists who sang, rapped or played musical instruments. Vincent E. Williamsbetter known by his stage name DJ Spinna, is an American hip hop and deep house producer from Brooklyn. According to Allmusic, he has "remained strictly an underground artist despite his astonishing talent." Life and career Spinna who is of Panamanian background, began experimenting with turntables at age 11 and is known for combining dance music with hip hop, funk, and soul. He remixed artists such as De La Soul, Mary J. Blige, and Stevie Wonder. He also collaborated with Eminem on songs such as "Three Six Five," "Watch Deez", and "5-Star Generals", before the latter went on to superstardom. Ticklah
Victor Axelrod is an American musician, Record producer, producer, and audio engineer from Brooklyn, New York. Since the mid-1990s, he has worked primarily in the genres of reggae, Afrobeat and soul, recording and producing under his own name and using the alias Ticklah. Axelrod became a founding member of Antibalas and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings after meeting musicians Martín Perna, Martin Perna and Gabe Roth (a.k.a. Bosco Mann) in the late 1990s. Eric Krasno
Soulive is a funk/jazz trio that originated in Woodstock, New York, and is known for its solos and catchy, upbeat songs. The band consists of Eric Krasno (guitar), Alan Evans (drums) and Neal Evans (Hammond B3 organ, bass keys, clavinet). Robert Laurence Albert Simpson, known professionally as Ronny Jordan (29 November 1962 – 13 January 2014) was a British guitarist and part of the acid jazz movement at the end of the twentieth century. Tortured Soul is a music group from Brooklyn, New York, United States, comprising composer, singer and drummer John-Christian Urich, bass player Jordan Scannella and keyboard player Isamu MacGregor. History Tortured Soul's origins date back to 2001 while Urich was steering Cooly's Hot Box, an acid jazz outfit also featuring indie soul vocalist Angela Johnson. After putting Cooly's Hot Box on hiatus, Urich composed ''Might Do Something Wrong'' which was picked up by New York-based deep house label Central Park Recordings. A mix of the track by Osunlade was used at Club Shelter and became the first piece of a full-length disc. Mark de Clive-Lowe (born 16 August 1974) is an American-based Japanese-New Zealand DJ, musician, composer and producer raised in Auckland and now based in Los Angeles, California. Jigmastas
Jigmastas are an East Coast underground hip hop group based in Brooklyn. The group consists of DJ Spinna and MC Kriminul. History DJ Spinna, was already renowned throughout the 1990s, and as well already knew Kriminul from the mid-1980s. Jigmastas' recording debut was in Rude Rydims' "Everybody Bounce" on Freeze Records in 1995. The duo released their first single "Beyond Real" which became an underground rap hit, and inspired the name of their self-funded record label, "Beyond Real Recordings," in 1996.
