Here Comes The Night (Barry Manilow Album)
''Here Comes the Night'' is the ninth studio album by singer-songwriter Barry Manilow, released in 1982 by Arista Records. The United Kingdom release went by the title ''I Wanna Do It With You''. It received a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA. The album was recorded at Sound City Recording Studios in Van Nuys, California. The album has yet to be released on CD in the US, but has had 2 CD releases in Japan: one was a 1987 incarnation that included a remix of "Oh Julie" (with added background vocals and additional instrumentation), and then in 1994, a new reissue came out in Japan that contained the original mix of "Oh Julie", as released in the US in 1982 on both EP and 45. The album contains three charting singles: "Memory (Cats song), Memory" (#8 US AC, #39 US), "Some Kind of Friend" (#4 US AC, #26 US), and "Oh Julie" (#24 US AC, #38 US), which was found on the UK cassette version as a bonus track. Barry Manilow (born Barry Alan Pincus; June 17, 1943) is an American singer and songwriter with a career that spans seven decades. His hit recordings include "Could It Be Magic", " Somewhere Down the Road", " Mandy", "I Write the Songs", " Can't Smile Without You" and "Copacabana (At the Copa)". Bruce Sussman
Bruce Howard Sussman (born July 12, 1949) is an American lyricist, and librettist. Though he has collaborated with numerous composers, he is probably best known for his work with his long-time collaborator, Barry Manilow. Together they have written over two hundred songs for numerous recording artists, films, stage musicals and television programs. Life and career Sussman was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York and was raised on Long Island, where he graduated from Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick, New York. Michael Barratt (born 4 March 1948), known professionally as Shakin' Stevens, is a Welsh singer and songwriter. He was the UK's biggest-selling singles artist of the 1980s. "Oh Julie" was a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart for one week for Shakin' Stevens in January 1982. It is Stevens' third number-one single and his first as a writer. Michael Donald Chapman (born 13 April 1947) is an Australian-American record producer and songwriter who was a major force in the British pop music industry in the 1970s. He created a string of hit singles for artists including The Sweet, Suzi Quatro, Smokie, Mud and Racey with business partner Nicky Chinn, creating a sound that became identified with the "Chinnichap" brand.
