Alexander Herdman
Alexander Lawrence Herdman (17 July 1869 – 13 June 1953) was a New Zealand politician. He served as Attorney-General, Minister of Justice, and Minister of Police. He is known for his reforms of the civil service and for his hard line on law and order. Early life Herdman was born in Dunedin. He studied at Otago Boys' High School, and then gained a law degree while working part-time. He was admitted to the bar in 1894, and established a practice in Naseby the following year. He also worked in Palmerston, where he joined the local Freemason lodge. He would retain his connection with the Freemasons over his career, eventually grand master of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. Early political career Herdman began a political career in Naseby, being elected mayor in 1898. Robert Vaughn Herdman (born March 8, 1966) is a Christian musician, songwriter and producer more known for being a member of the band Audio Adrenaline. Life and career Herdman grew up in Lynchburg, a rural town in the southwest part of Ohio. At 17 Herdman joined the elite Army Rangers. During his time in the Rangers Herdman had several parachuting accidents which resulted in minor injuries and broken bones. He was also involved in a helicopter crash that resulted in no injuries. After completing Ranger School, Special forces Combat Diver School and other specialty schools, Herdman decided to end his time in the military after four years. After leaving the Army, Herdman attended Kentucky Christian College where he majored in Math and Science. Martin Herdman (born 24 July 1956) is an English actor, boxer and former professional rugby league footballer. Sporting career Herdman was a boxer for several years, and won the South West London ABA Heavyweight Championship in 1978. He also represented England in international matches against Kenya and Hungary. Herdman also played rugby league as a , playing at representative level for Wales, and club level for Fulham RLFC. Sir William Abbott Herdman FRS FRSE FLS (5 September 1858, Edinburgh – 21 July 1924) was a Scottish marine zoologist and oceanographer. His zoological author abbreviation is Herdman. Life He was born in Edinburgh the son of the artist Robert Herdman RSA and his wife, Emma Abbott. They lived at 32 Danube Street. He was educated at Edinburgh Academy from 1870 to 1875. William Gawin Herdman
William Gawin Herdman (also known as W. G. Herdman; 1805–1882) was a British writer and painter, known for his scenes in the Liverpool area of England. Art Herdman was a self-taught painter who started sketching in his early teens, documenting the city of Liverpool, making notes about how the city and its buildings were changing as the city grew. Herdman painted around 2,000 watercolours of Liverpool scenes which were included in the book, ''Herdman’s Liverpool'' which appeared in several editions after his death in 1882. Herdman is best known as a landscape painter, typically of scenes around Liverpool. Herdman exhibited landscapes at the Royal Academy from 1834 to 1861.
