Herbert Lytton
Herbert Lytton Cress (December 9, 1897 – June 26, 1981) was an American film and television actor. He was known for playing Admiral Reynolds in the American sitcom television series ''McHale's Navy''. Lytton was born in Falmouth, Kentucky. In 1937 he made his film debut in ''Stolen Holiday'', playing the uncredited role of a fashion show photographer. He then appeared in the films ''Captain America'' and ''The Black Parachute'', and played the role of Chuck Johnson in the 1950 film ''Champagne for Caesar''. He later guest-starred in television programs including ''Gunsmoke'', ''Bonanza'', ''Tombstone Territory'', ''Wagon Train'', ''77 Sunset Strip'', ''Tales of Wells Fargo'', ''Perry Mason'', ''The Twilight Zone'', ''The Deputy'' and ''Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea''. Falmouth, Kentucky
Falmouth is a home rule-class city in, and the county seat of, Pendleton County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 2,169 according to the 2010 census. It lies at the confluence of the South and Main forks of the Licking River and is home to Kincaid Regional Theatre. Geography Falmouth is located at (38.673860, -84.334213). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. History Possibly settled as early as 1780, Falmouth was laid out by John Waller (1758–1823) and formally established by the state assembly in 1793. Waller named the new settlement after his native Falmouth, Virginia. It was incorporated as a city in 1856. The town is perhaps best remembered for natural disasters that have devastated the town over the last half of the 20th century. ''Man of a Thousand Faces'' is a 1957 dark drama film detailing the life of silent movie actor Lon Chaney, in which the title role is played by James Cagney. ''The Glass Web'' is a 1953 American 3-D film noir crime film directed by Jack Arnold and starring Edward G. Robinson, John Forsythe, Marcia Henderson and Kathleen Hughes. It is based on Max Simon Ehrlich's 1952 novel ''Spin the Glass Web''. Plot Henry Hayes is a well-respected crime researcher known for, and sometimes kidded, about his relentless perfectionism. Little is known of his social life. When he discovers he is being led on by gold-digger Paula Rainer, he kills her in accidental anger. He decides the best way to divert suspicion from himself is to immediately re-create the crime on his television show. ''The Gallant Hours'' is an American docudrama from 1960 about William F. Halsey, Jr. and his efforts in fighting against Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto and the Imperial Japanese Navy in the Guadalcanal campaign of World War II. This film was directed by Robert Montgomery, who also did uncredited narration, and it stars James Cagney as Admiral Halsey. Featured in the cast are Dennis Weaver, Ward Costello, Vaughn Taylor, Richard Jaeckel, and Les Tremayne. The screenplay was by Frank D. Gilroy and Beirne Lay, Jr., and the unusual a cappella choral score was composed and conducted by Roger Wagner, although the theme song was written by Ward Costello. The film was produced by Montgomery and Cagney, and it was the only film made by their joint production company. It was also Cagney's last starring role in a dramatic film. ''Behind the High Wall'' is a 1956 American film noir crime film directed by Abner Biberman starring Tom Tully and Sylvia Sidney. It featured an early performance by John Gavin who had just signed with Universal. It was sometimes referred to as his first film although he had appeared in ''Raw Edge'' under another name. In March 1956 it was said "John Gilmore" was in the film but in the credits he is called "John Gavin". Plot Inmates pull a prison break, taking the warden and another prisoner as hostages. ''The Deputy'' is an American Western series starring Henry Fonda that aired on NBC from 1959 to 1961. Fonda portrayed Chief Marshal Simon Fry of the Arizona Territory and Allen Case played Deputy Clay McCord, a storekeeper who tried to avoid using a gun. Synopsis Fonda narrated most episodes and appeared briefly at the beginning and ending of most segments. He played the lead in only six episodes in the first season and 13 in the second. Usually, he gave his deputy the assignment, and on rare occasions, thanked him at the conclusion of the episode.
