Herbert Henley
Herbert Sydney Henley (27 October 1889 – 4 October 1966) was an Australian politician. He was born in Balmain, the son of Sir Thomas Henley and Charlotte Smith. He attended Sydney Grammar School and Hawkesbury Agricultural College, becoming a farmer near Cowra. On 15 February 1919 he married Stella Evans, with whom he had two sons. He served on Waugoola Shire Council from 1920 to 1922 (as president) and from 1935 to 1941. Thomas Henley (Australian Politician)
Sir Thomas Henley KBE (4 February 1860 – 14 May 1935) was an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Early years Henley was born in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, England and after basic education worked in the building industry for about ten years until he migrated to Sydney in about 1884. He married Charlotte Smith in 1886. He became a property developer and continued to build up his business during the depression of the 1890s, including acquiring Sydney Harbour ferry companies. He was an alderman for Drummoyne Council from 1898 to 1934, including four periods as Mayor. Political career Henley was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1904 representing Burwood as a member of the Liberal Reform Party, Nationalist Party and United Australia Party until 1935, except for the period of proportional representation (1920–1927), when he was a member for Ryde. Hawkesbury Agricultural College
Hawkesbury Agricultural College was the first agricultural college in New South Wales, Australia, based in Richmond. It operated from 1891 to 1989. It was established on 10 March 1891, and formally opened by Minister for Mines and Agriculture Sydney Smith on 16 March. The college initially operated out of two historic residences in Richmond, " Toxana" and "Andrew Towns House", with construction of the campus buildings beginning from 1895. Two central campus precincts, the Quadrangle (the initial teaching area) and Stable Square (the initial base for student practical work), both date from this initial 1890s phase of construction. Cowra is a small town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest population centre and the council seat for the Cowra Shire, with a population of 9,863.
