Arnie Herber
Arnold Charles Herber (April 2, 1910 – October 14, 1969) was an American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Green Bay Packers. During his Packers tenure from 1930 to 1940, he led the league in passing yards and touchdowns three times and won four NFL Championship Games. Herber retired after 11 seasons in Green Bay, but returned in 1944 with New York Giants, where he played his final two seasons. He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966. Early years Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Herber was a Packers fan from a young age, all while starring at local Green Bay West High School in football and basketball. He played two years of college football, on the freshman team at University of Wisconsin–Madison and spent his sophomore season at Regis College in Denver, which dropped football after the 1929 season. Johannes Herber (born January 17, 1983) is a former German basketball player. He was born in Darmstadt. In 2006, he completed a U.S. college career at West Virginia University (WVU). In America, he was generally known as Joe Herber. College career After being developed by the Langen club in Germany, Herber received several professional offers in Europe, but turned them down in favor of a U.S. college career. The 6'6", 200 lb (1.98 m, 91 kg) all-around guard became the second recruit of new West Virginia coach John Beilein in 2002. Herber went on to start every game of his four-year WVU career, setting school records for most games started and minutes played. He also finished his college career as WVU's fifth-leading assist man. Maxi Herber
Maxi Herber (8 October 1920 – 20 October 2006) was a German figure skater who competed in pair skating and single skating. She is the youngest figure skating Olympic champion (at the age of 15 years and 128 days) when she won gold in pair skating together with Ernst Baier at the 1936 Winter Olympics. Born in Munich, Herber was also an accomplished single skater, winning the German nationals three times, from 1933 to 1935. She skated for the Münchner EV (Munich EV) club. Herber and Baier married after their skating career ended in 1940. They had 3 children. After World War II they skated in ice shows. Later the couple owned a business. In 1964 they were divorced. Supported by the "Deutsche Sporthilfe" (German Sport help organisation) she moved to Oberau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria. Veronica Herber is a New Zealand artist who lives and works in Auckland. She is best known for working with Japanese Washi tape. Education Veronica Herber holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Distinction from Auckland University of Technology. At present Herber is completing a Post Graduate Diploma at Elam School of Fine Arts. The artist initially practiced painting before discovering tape as a medium. Career Veronica Herber has exhibited in several large-scale sculpture projects both in New Zealand and abroad.
