''Her First Elopement'' is a 1920 American drama film directed by Sam Wood and written by Edith M. Kennedy. It is based on the 1915 novel ''Her First Elopement'' by Alice Duer Miller. The film stars Wanda Hawley, Jerome Patrick, Nell Craig, Lucien Littlefield, Jay Eaton, and Helen Dunbar. The film was released in December 1920, by Realart Pictures Corporation. Samuel Grosvenor Wood (July 10, 1883 – September 22, 1949) was an American film director and producer who is best known for having directed such Hollywood hits as ''A Night at the Opera (film), A Night at the Opera'', ''A Day at the Races (film), A Day at the Races'', ''Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939 film), Goodbye, Mr. Chips'', ''The Pride of the Yankees'', and ''For Whom the Bell Tolls (film), ''For Whom the Bell Tolls'''' and for his uncredited work directing parts of ''Gone with the Wind (film), Gone with the Wind''. Herbert Standing (13 November 1846 – 5 December 1923) was a British stage and screen actor and the patriarch of the Standing family of actors. He was the father of numerous children, many of whom had careers in theatre and cinema. Toward the end of his life, he appeared in many Hollywood silent films. Standing began in theatre in 1867, and turned to films in 1913. Margaret Morris (November 7, 1898 – June 7, 1968) was an American film actress of the silent films, silent film era and into the 1930s. Early years Morris, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was the great-niece to former US President Benjamin Harrison. She became interested in acting by her late teens, and moved to Hollywood, California, Hollywood to pursue an acting career.
