Henry Drummond Wolff
Sir Henry Drummond Charles Wolff (12 October 1830 – 11 October 1908), known as Henry Drummond Wolff, was an English diplomat and Conservative Party politician, who started as a clerk in the Foreign Office. Background Wolff was born in Malta, the son of Joseph Wolff and Lady Georgiana Mary Walpole, daughter of Horatio Walpole, 2nd Earl of Orford. His father was a missionary who had converted from Judaism to Catholicism and then Anglicanism, and his mother was the niece of Prime Minister Robert Walpole. Wolff was educated at Rugby School. Political and diplomatic career Wolff sat in parliament for Christchurch from 1874 to 1880 and for Portsmouth from 1880 to 1885. Whilst MP for Christchurch he lived in Boscombe, where he developed the Boscombe Spa estate, and he played an active role in the public life of Bournemouth. Henry Maxence Cavendish Drummond Wolff (16 July 1899 – 8 February 1982), commonly known as Henry Drummond Wolff, was a British Conservative Party politician. Drummond Wolff was known for his close ties to the far right. Political career From early in his political career, Drummond Wolff's outlook was defined by his twin hatreds for laissez-faire capitalism and socialism, opinions that would lead him to become sympathetic to fascism as an alternative.Newton, p. 152 In 1934, Viscount Lymington resigned as MP for Basingstoke, after becoming disillusioned with party politics.Pugh, p. 148 Nonetheless, he helped to ensure that his successor as Conservative candidate would be Drummond Wolff, a close political associate. Henry William Wolff
Henry William Wolff (30 December 1840 – 7 March 1931) was a British co-operative activist. Wolff's father ran the Hunslet Flax Mill, and Henry was born in Leeds. He worked in agriculture, spending some in the Vosges and Black Forest. Returning to England, he worked in journalism, and wrote books on a wide variety of subjects. In the 1880s, he was active in the Liberal Party, and became honorary secretary of the London and Counties Liberal Union. Henry Wolf
Henry Wolf (May 23, 1925 – February 14, 2005) was an Austrian-born, American graphic designer, photographer and art director. He influenced and energized magazine design during the 1950s and 1960s with his bold layouts, elegant typography, and whimsical cover photographs while serving as art director at ''Esquire'', ''Bazaar'', and ''Show'' magazines. Wolf opened his own photography studio, Henry Wolf Productions, in 1971, while also teaching magazine design and photography classes. In 1976, he was awarded the American Institute of Graphic Arts Medal for Lifetime Achievement and, in 1980, was inducted into the New York Art Directors Club Hall of Fame. Life and work Henry Wolf was born into a Jewish family in Vienna, Austria, on May 23, 1925. With the Anschluss and Nazi occupation of Austria in 1938, his secure childhood in Vienna ended, and his family left Austria and began a three-year odyssey through France and North Africa.
