Henry Stuckey (architect)
Henry Stuckey (born July 24, 1950) is a former American football defensive back. He played two seasons with the New York Giants (1975–1976), after three seasons with the Miami Dolphins (1972–1974), where he was part of the team that won Super Bowl VIII. An eighth-round selection in the 1972 NFL Draft The 1972 NFL draft was held February 1–2, 1972, at the Essex House in New York City, New York. With the first overall pick of the draft, the Buffalo Bills selected defensive end Walt Patulski. Player selections Round one Round two ..., he did not play his first year with the Dolphins, but then had to replace an injured Lloyd Mumphord in 1973. Stuckey replaced Mumphord in Super Bowl Vll on special teams. He recorded his first NFL tackle when he tackled Washington Redskins kick returner Herb Mul-Key during the start of the second half kick off. Lloyd Mumphord
Lloyd N. Mumphord (born December 20, 1946) is a former defensive back who played collegiately for Texas Southern University and ten seasons in American Pro Football. He played professionally for the Miami Dolphins of the American Football League and the Dolphins and Baltimore Colts of the National Football League. He played in three Super Bowls The Super Bowl is the annual final playoff game of the National Football League (NFL) to determine the league champion. It has served as the final game of every NFL season since 1966, replacing the NFL Championship Game. Since 2022, the game ... for the Dolphins, and served as their captain of the Special Teams. Super Bowl VIII was an American football game between the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Minnesota Vikings and the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Miami Dolphins to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 1973 season. The Dolphins defeated the Vikings by the score of 24–7 to win their second consecutive Super Bowl, the first team to do so since the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowls I and II, and the first AFL/AFC team to do so. The game was played on January 13, 1974 at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas. This was the first time the Super Bowl venue was not home to that of an NFL franchise. At the time, the Astrodome seated just over 50,000, and was considered too small to host a Super Bowl.
