Henry Luff
Harry Luff (September 14, 1856 – October 11, 1916) was an American Major League Baseball player from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who played for six teams in four different major leagues from 1875 to 1885. He played for the New Haven Elm Citys in the National Association; the Cincinnati Red Stockings and the Louisville Eclipse in the American Association; the Detroit Wolverines in the National League; and the Philadelphia Keystones and the Kansas City Cowboys in the Union Association. He also played on several minor league teams in various leagues. He played at every position except catcher. His career was marred by arrests for stolen goods, the suspicious death of a girlfriend, a drunken hotel fight in which he assaulted a police officer and another drunken incident where he threatened a streetcar conductor with a knife. Louisville Colonels
The Louisville Colonels were a Major League Baseball team that also played in the American Association (AA) throughout that league's ten-year existence from 1882 until 1891. They were known as the Louisville Eclipse from 1882 to 1884, and as the Louisville Colonels from 1885 to 1891; the latter name derived from the historic title of the Kentucky Colonel. The minor league Providence Grays was the name of several minor league baseball teams between and . These teams were unconnected to the Major League Baseball Providence Grays. The first minor league Grays were members of the Eastern League in 1886, playing at the Messer Street Grounds. The team folded in June. A team known as the Providence Clamdiggers first played in the Eastern Association in , folding in August, and teams known as the Clamdiggers or Grays played in the Eastern League through . The International League (IL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the United States. Along with the Pacific Coast League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The league traces its roots to 1884, while the modern IL began in 1912. William H. Geer (d. September 30, 1928), was an American Major League Baseball player who played most of his career as a shortstop for five seasons and a total of seven teams.
